Any Blade letting Bolton fans use his details to purchase tickets should get a long ban from the lane, not only is he putting them at risk if it does kick off but it could be very damaging for SUFC we all know how the FA like to jump on us for the slightest bit of crowd trouble.

Agreed.

From a personal point of view, I want to be able to take the little lad to the match without having to think about any potential trouble. Outside the ground, obviously its down to me - avoid the flare up areas/pubs etc etc. However, people shouldn't have to worry once in the ground - and having away fans in with home fans is just trouble waiting to happen - whether its them being idiots or our lot. Yes its a sad state of affairs (fans being unable to mingle) but that's the way it is.

I know the club have been cross referencing customer details with Bolton to see if they are on their system, but if our fans are helping them what chance do they stand.

Away fans would probably be OK on the South Stand if they kept their gob shut, but its stupid for them to sit just below their own supporters where the temptation will be to join in with their chants and celebrations.

In the Bolton fans' defence, these were probably the only seats available. If I want to watch the Blades and no away tickets are available I will sit anywhere in a foreign ground, so you can't blame them for chancing it in the same way. Problem is that if it is a sell out they will be depriving Blades fans of tickets.

Anyone know whether it's likely to be? I feel there's been fewer of the club updates on dwindling ticket availability compared to last week.

I doubt it, mb. Leeds wasn't the greatest draw in those days and it was a bitterly freezing night.

MB and BFK are correct. DirtyLeeds were still a premier league team at that point and definitely a draw. My memory is that the ground was full and most definitely rocking. Being the wankers they are, they still managed to chuck the odd seat or ten.

Apoloigies if raised in another thread but the netting on the bottom corner of the south stand next to Bramall Lane has been removed and those tickets are now on sale, last time they were on sale must have been 10 years ago!

Good, some common sense
It means our capacity is over 30,000 again.

This game could potentially fuck up our trial period, with regard to having Blades at the BL end.

Away fans should always be in BL lower.

That's about time DB...I could never understand why they were netted off all the time,it seemed a bit over the top.
It should be another good crowd, but can we not cheer when they announce it please,i don't know if it's just me,but I always cringe when that happens.

Where would we put Millwall fans, last time they were in the bottom tier they had the stewards on a merry tea dance............could we cage them.

I'm sure the netting was removed when we had the trial games for Blades fans in the BLLT.

Well for once the club is on the ball and trying to get as many Blades in the ground as possible, it would be a real shame if our own fans messed up the good work by getting tickets for away fans in home areas and something kicking off.

I've bought tickets for away games from home clubs many a time.

I've actually seen United play from every stand at Elland Road and I have a vivid memory of sitting in Whitelocks one lunchtime divvying up the tickets we had. I got an away ticket that year as a reward for getting a good number of home tickets.

When we played Luton on their plastic pitch and away fans were banned I got about a dozen tickets for Blades from local contacts, it's what fans do.

Having said that I never had to buy em cos I left it too late but because it was the only way to get em.

If I was a Bolton fan I would have had mine in good time but I won't chastise those that didn't for doing what it takes.

When I was a kid in the last 70's and 80's the rule was

Kop home fans only
Bramall Lane end away fans only
But both the South stand and John Steeet had a few away fans (on their best behaviour)

I remember seeing a few away fans wearing colours on the South stand.
Stood next to a few away fans on the John Street terrace but of course they'd stay quiet and respectful.

Also wemt to loads of away matches in the 80's.
Again every club had an home end and an away end
But there were always areas (usually side stands and terracing) that were mixed.
As long as you were respectful there usually weren't any trouble but sometimes there was an uneasy feeling.
