A fair bit has been noted about our absolutely vital 2 home games vs Scunny and Bolton this month and they clearly are hugely important and we could do with getting over our mini wobble before then (which im confident we will do).

However I have just seen Bolton's fixtures for February and they could genuinely be well off the pace by the time we play them anyway:

Sat 4th MK Dons away (improving steadily)
11th Walsall at home (maybe just our bogey team but shown they can be a good side)
14th Rochdale at home
18th Bradford away
25th Us away.

At the minute even if they won their 2 games in hand they would still be a point behind, but that run is by no means a walk in the park and I think losing Clough will be a huge blow.

At the end of the day we just need top 2, champions would just be the icing on the cake, beating both would be class but even if we lost to Scunny yet beat Bolton and Bolton have dropped points in between, then I dont see anyone else replacing us and scunny.

Get Riley, Carruthers, Wright and maybe O Shea in the team to freshen things up and we will be firing again!

Also Bolton's 2 games in hand are

Home to Bristol Rovers and away to Southend.

Bristol looked a good outfit at Bramall Lane but should be much weaker now thye've lost Mat Taylor, so I expect Bolton to win that one.

However the away fixture at Southend will be very tough and I expect Bolton to lose.

Has Clough gone ? Plenty of time for other top half of the table sides to get involved in the chase for auto's, not just between Bolton, Scunny and us.

After the transfer window I'm more worried about Bradford than Bolton. Think Scunny know enough about how to be offensive and win to make it but if Van Veen goes for a Chop Suey it might slow them down a bit.

All academic if we keep performing like we did in the last 3 games, especially in defence. I take the OP's point though and we have a great chance to apply some more pressure this weekend, let's hope we don't pile it on ourselves.

Hope we start with our best and most offensive eleven, this b*ll*cks of keeping several good uns on the bench and hoping to turn the game around late on doesn't work too well and is no good for my finger nails.

I very much doubt their Feb and March fixtures are as tough as ours. I firmly expect us to be out the top two come April 1st. Although I am a pessimistic bastard.

i don't think Bolton will be the side to worry about come the end of the season

I think you might be right.

Their forward line previously was Ameobi Madine Clough. Their forward line now will probably be Long/Solomon-Otobor Madine Le Fondre. It's nowhere near as good and isn't as well balanced. And they were hardly prolific scorers before. ALF central would seem like the best bet but Parkinson won't go without a target man... so he better hope Madine doesn't get injured as he's their only one.

If they lost Beevers to Scunny yesterday too that would've finished them off completely.... and sealed Scunny's promotion.

Their squad's also smaller than it looks because Darren Pratley and Mark Davies are out for the season. Both good players too.

So for me it's very unlikely Bolton will go up. And we'll have to be very poor not to finish above them.
