I was just saying for two members to stop taking shots at each other - I'm not bothered who said what to who, when, and why and who is right and who is wrong.
Pack it in the pair of yer!

In all the years I've been on this forum, I can't remember Silent ever being provocative, using foul language or inciting a riot.It wasnt me that used foul language!

Regards to the OP, we may be able to pull in the second highest crowd of any of the european 'third divisions' behind dynamo dresden, i do believe. But i've been awfully disappointed by the atmosphere at the majority of the games at the lane this season. Even games in the cup this season were poor including the Spurs games for 75 mins. Last game i've really thought the atmosphere was excellent was Charlton last year![]()
I see top of the table Bristol City could not manage 11,000 last night.
Our attendances really are incredible all things considered.
Yes your attendances are very impressive. Ours is due to two factors, 1. max of 13k due to redevelopment. 2. 1100 set aside for away fans, plus segregation area, Port Vale brought a coach load. The home section was virtually full with the odd lone seat available.
See you soon.
Just to reiterate what other posters on this thread have mentioned, not only last night, but as we've become a Division 1 fixture, and can attract crowds that many clubs of supposed higher status would love to attract, aren't our fans just about as good as it gets? I cannot fathom why, after so long in this dump of a division, supporters continue to turn out in such numbers, but there you go, a mystery within a puzzle within a conundrum.
So, I'm assuming that promotion would also deliver a hefty increase in numbers at home games? I can't recall, but didn't the last stay in the Premiership give us an average of around 27-28 thousand? What with the newly publicised deal that's been announced for the footballing rights on Sky and BT, I hope the Prince smells the ink on those newly printed banknotes? Further investment now will push SUFC closer towards the Championship and then the Premiership, all of which makes the Brayford signing seem like jingly in the Prince's back pocket.
I'm not sure the Championship would see a hefty increase from the home support.
Obviously there is a good chance of big away support but SUFC fans don't flood back in big numbers quickly....never have....excluding Premier.
Could I just ask where you got that figure from ?
http://www.soccerstats.com/attendance.asp?league=england2
our average is 19003 so only 9 championship clubs have better average , and we get clubs bringing the 104 colchester did
we are above the current leaders boro
Why, has somebody compared us to Chelsea or Man City?Have I stumbled onto Pork Talk by mistake?!

Agree ,
Championship football for the run of the mill games would be 22 to 24 thousand . SWFC , Leeds , etc would attract a bigger gate.
Premiership football , full house and dust off the drawings for increase in stadium capacity.

So we'd be looking at 23-25k then. An increase of about 4k plus?
Without the restrictions what do you think you would have realistically been getting this season?
Agree with you. Also think an increase of 4k would be about right if we go up, but a bit more should we have a really good season.FATTY , i think so . The hard core supporter from league 1 would still be there . People are creatures of habit and once they stop going , it takes a lot to get them back , because they do other things , like watch Jeff Stelling , listen to radio sheffield or have a kip , if they haven't got kids. Also watching the matches in the pub , shopping with the mrs , or spending Saturday with the family.
Yes a increase of circa 4k plus maximum imo.
