Attendance vs Pigs

Let’s hope they don’t sell them to the people who were near me at Wembley for the Hull game:eek:

Weird how there's suddenly about 35 tickets that have come available on the South Stand. It was saying sold out on all of the South Stand just two days ago. They'll probably go today though and the rest

Last season it was sold out a week before the match, official attendance 31,120.

This season i’m sure Wednesday (thanks to SY Police insisting on more segregation) have been given 100 less tickets.
So suspect the max capacity is now 31,020 ish.

The ticket site shows about 90 tickets left, exactly 50 very restricted view (you only see half the pitch) in the Pukka Pie Corner and
About 40 singles in the Family stand where if an adult wants a ticket they must take a kid, but the seats are all singles scattered about, so you wouldn’t be able to sit with the kid you”re taking.

Suspect the final attendance will be 30,950 to 31,000.

It wasn't sold out the week before last season. I bought a ticket the day before the match for my Dad and there were about 5 left at that point.

Think the club are ordered by the police to release tickets closest to the corner flags where the netting is, the last.
So it can appear like a sell out, then they trickle feed availability of further tickets

They need to stop pissing about with drip feeding the tickets like this. Apart from suckering some fans into buying dud seats, the newly released ones are either banned from sale or not, you don't release the most contentious ones for sale at the last minute.

Think I've mentioned slow sales and fucking about on a number of occasions

As said above they've put new seats on sale in John Street and in the New South Stand.

Now 105 unrestricted view tickets in John Street and 45 on the New South Stand.

If I had a restricted view ticket on the Kop or PPC I'd be straight down The Lane to get it changed!
Apparently,we are not 'allowed' to sell single tickets in the John Street Family Stand until all the remaining tickets have been sold for the 'Pukka pie' corner, including those with the restricted view. However,i think the rules get relaxed as match day approaches,so those who bought the restricted view seats earlier should get down and change them now that the better seats have been released.

South Yorkshire Police and the Safety Committee eh ?
Why don't they sell the seats nearest to the pigs at the same time as any other tickets when our most well known fans on the system can buy them.
They leave them until last when a few of our most dubious and lesser known fans to the system can buy them, people that probably won't care as much if they do something stupid and get banned for a while.
Selling them now will be almost impossible taking time into consideration plus the waste of time that's going to be taken up with exchanging restricted view seats

I'd be annoyed if I'd bought a restricted view ticket only to find out these are now on sale.

Have the club publicised that the are a small number of newly released seats. Unreasonable that only way to find out is by logging on to the ticket site every few hours to check - or by reading this forum?

come on we are talking our ticket officer managers wouldn't want to go to a brewery with them

With the capacity being 32,609 (as per official site) I’m going to guess it’ll be 31,510.

Unfortunately that figure of 32,609 is now impossible, although I believe in the PL the police would allow us to sell the full 32,609 tickets again.

The bottom tier has 2,990 seats but Wednesday have been allocated 2,100, that’s 900 below capacity

And the SY Police won’t allow us to sell the first 3 front rows of the BLUT, that’s over 500 tickets plus there are the corners near the corner flags on the Sourh stand and Family stand that cant be sold.

The max allowed last season was 31,210. Wednesday we’re given 2,200 tickets last season so not sure why they’ve only got 2,100 this season bearing in mnd that Aston Villa we’re allowed 2,300 the other week.

Looks like the current max capacity is very close to 31,000, so everything indicates it got to be 30,900 to 39,950 ish.

Sheff, I have been told its got nothing to do with SYP regarding seating availability, ain't saying it is but a member of the constabulary who goes in my boozer has said so on more than one occasion it's got nothing to do with them.

Love to get to the bottom of it.

We installed HD CCTV this season, so not sure why the BLUT is so under used. Also not sure why the BL bottom tier has 900 empty seats?

I've put an FOI request into SYP and the SAG asking for info on decisions to restrict capacity and also the number of arrests made at games, I'll add any info I get on here.

I'm going to keep gathering info and try to put something together based on the approach of SYP when policing local football games, in comparrison to other large gatherings of people and taking into consideration the number or arrests made. Again, I'll share it if/when I get something meaningful and worth sharing.

so a possible 9050 either way? UTB :tumbleweed:

With the Massive there, surely we will get 2,031,510?

We haven't sold out it appears. No mention of restricted seats and family Stand restrictions but as they didn't sell their tickets last September, it clearly gives them some comfort.

Anything. Any straw will be clutched. The sad scruffy deluded bastards.

Its near as dammit a sell out, but as others have said we've lost hundreds due to segregation and presumably safety regarding the first three rows of the BLUT.

The largest area of unsold seats is in the first block near the Wednesday fans in the John Street but its still only a minority. It'll be a great atmosphere for sure.

100%agree, I don't get it ,somebody should explain the reasons for it, the away end reduction seems bizarre ,at the "empty" end they are well away from tge home fans, there is obviously an answer perhaps Danny who posts on here could shed some light on it with his contacts.
