Attendance prediction v Derby

Looks well short of 27 or 28k, to me, from the seats still showing as unsold. August bank holiday weekend too. There will be plenty of people away.

I'm currently predicting that I will be in attendance, although I will be counted in the official attendance even if I'm not in attendance.

11,054. It will be actually be more than 25k but Reg is having problems with his jute mill.

Many moons ago I called Radio Hallam up when they had Reg in the studio. I queried attendances and gave an example of what I believed was a very low figure based on the people in the ground and the respective capacities of various sides.

He tried to be patronising and said I was obviously wrong, whilst then actually going on to effectively agree with my logic from the said game.

22,000 against Man City when we beat them 4-2 was one of the dodgiest ever attendances

There wasn't a seat spare that day and that was when away fans got the upper and lower tier

Also 17000 against Newcastle in the League Cup tie that we won 3-0

Yeah was just about to quote that Newcastle game when I started reading your post.

As someone who started going to the Lane in 1981, and probably up to that point hadn't been in a crowd above about 24k for the Peterborough game in 1982, i really thought it was close to that.

Me and my mate couldn't get on the kop properly like usual and were guessing how much above 20k it must be.

Laughed our bollocks off when they quoted 17k.

Suppose that was in the day of jumping turnstiles too for a small fee.

Not selling as well as the Brentford match at the same stage, looks like we'll end up having 1,000 or maybe 2,000 less home fans compared to that game

However Derby are bringing an extra 1000 more than Brentford.
So should be a similar gate to the first game where it was 26,746.

There was 25,482 at the Barnsley game, Derby were allowed to sell 100 more tickets and would expect slightly more home fans.

I'll go for 26,047
