Attendance prediction v Derby

I don't know why fans are making excuses and sounding a tad disappointed at the gates so far, they've been fantastic. Don't forget we haven't achieved anything yet nor will we unless we show some ambition in the transfer market. They'll be on a par this season with the three seasons that followed our Prem season and that in itself is excellent.

Dont undertand why we dont just give away fans say half of the top tier for the matches when our demand wouldnt sell it out and just segregate the middle simple

I'm guessing that B6 and F6 in the BCEGI Family Stand (John Street) are showing 'not available' because South Yorkshire's Finest deem that the Derby fans will be visible from there so have netted it off? Always a bit sparse in there. And if the BLUT continues to be very poorly-attended, we're chucking money away by not giving it to the away fans. Put our fans who want to go in the BLUT in Westfield or Kop end of the South Stand, or does that make too much sense?

Don't be silly! SYPD would deem it too dangerous... before letting the Derby fans straight out onto BL after the game.

It was showing the same when I tried to purchase Leicester tkts. Rang up and got them in that area. Not sure why they show as unavailable.

We'll be well over £100,000 down due to daft noon ko v Barnsley and daft decision to not give Derby the away end.

They have got the "away end" its called the lower tier these days, upstairs is for "homies",i would only give the entire 5500 upstairs and downstairs,if the away team reciprocated the 5500 allocation at their ground.

No disrespect to Brentford and Barnsley. But the championship campaign starts on Saturday. These are the games we got promoted for. Sheepshaggers, Makems, Scabs, Seatsmashers and the struggling Piggies.

Feel both our home gates this season have been poor, especially against the dingles.

Yeah was just about to quote that Newcastle game when I started reading your post.

As someone who started going to the Lane in 1981, and probably up to that point hadn't been in a crowd above about 24k for the Peterborough game in 1982, i really thought it was close to that.

Me and my mate couldn't get on the kop properly like usual and were guessing how much above 20k it must be.

Laughed our bollocks off when they quoted 17k.

Suppose that was in the day of jumping turnstiles too for a small fee.

Of course, the official gate for that Peterborough match was itself more than a little suspect. As photographs from the match show, on that day the South Stand was full to its 8,000 capacity, The John Street stand (where I was) was full; the terrace was more packed than it had been for any other match that season; and the Kop which had a capacity of 18,000 in 1982, was absolutely rammed.

As for the 1991-92, when the Man City farce occurred, with a gate of 22,000 was given (albeit changed to 25,800 on the Monday) when the Police had been forced to open the 'sterile' section of the John Street Terrace because they had nowhere left to put the fans trying to get into the ground (capacity 32,000), it cannot be sensibly disputed that something untoward was being done with the gate figures that season. The first home game of that season, versus West Ham (21,463) stands out as another from that period which was laughably under-stated.

Baffles me how we sell 30k for cheesy last game last year , but only 23/24 for brentfird and dingles , wher r u lets b Avin u

The average away allocation will be about 3k this season.

Impossible, the bottom tier has 2,990 seats.

The Safety committee have ordered that the front 2 or 3 rows can't be used, also some seats near the corner flags cant be used either.

So the biggest away following any club can bring is 2,300. Derby sold all their tickets 2 weeks ago.
For some reason the same Safety committee only allowed Barnsley to have 2,200 tickets.

The average away support at BL this season will be somewhere between 1,500 and 2,000 this season.

There was over 25,500 home fans for the 1st match against Brentford and just over 23K home fans against Barnsley.

Lifting our first league trophy in 400 years may have something to do with it...

I don't know why people are complaining. It's our first season back in the Championship and we are in the top bracket of average attendances. We are getting similar crowds to when we were relegated from the Premier League and much more than when we were promoted there.

Average around 26,000. You have to be kidding, mate.
An average of around 26k wouldn't be bad but I just expected more closer to a sell out on our 1st game back in the 2nd tier and a local derby. Haven't a clue why away fans are only getting roughly 2300 when we should be cashing in on some potentially large away followings this season.

Because we have to give them all the top and bottom tier to increase the away allocation.

That would inevitably lead to a shortage of tickets for Blades when the big boys come calling.

We're looking after our own fans first, and quite rightly so.
