The Millennium Stadium is a Rugby ground with piss poor views and a roof, a roof!

So what if its next to the city centre, London has this wonder of metropolitan transport called the tube and in 15 minutes you can be in the middle of one of the best cities in the world.

Imagine of we beat Stevenage and got to Wembley and shock horror, won!
The tube is one of the reasons I don't like Wembley. It's much better if you can just park up within walking distance of the ground and have a drink there. Seems pointless to me traveling down to Wembley by car/coach and then still having to get the tube to the stadium.

Strange I thought Wembley had a roof too. That tube is great when around 20,000 people all try for the same train. & I hate London

Should have built a National stadium around middle England, same with the Olympics no fecker outside London will benefit we just have to pay of the debt.

Nope no roof, it has retractable end sections that allow sunlight onto the pitch not a giant iron sunroof.

You can say that about the SuperTram on derby day.

All this thread reminds me of is the "Yorkshire News" section of Soccer Am a few years ago.

That's rubbish, Wembley although rebuilt into a fantastic modern stadium has huge amounts of history.

It's the national stadium, it's where England play, the FA Cup final, kids grow up in shanty towns all over the world dreaming of playing at Wembley. It's a grand day out (up until kick off for a us anyway) its a chance for Lower League players to play at the Show Piece stadium.

Old Trafford's got a tunnel, a clock and Car Parks as far as the eye can see.

I am praying for a day out in London with 37,499 other Blades.

Which FA committee member are you then?

15 mins ? - it takes you that long to get onto the concrete ramp down from the stadium.
150 minutes and you might be about right.
Its the feckin pits Wembley and its a crap stadium with no soul.

yeah it doesn't work though.. the fact of which was conveniently brushed under the carpet..it is to do with the fact wembley is round so there is no moment of force to push against.. schoolboy error really

Last time I went to wembley I got shuffled onto a train along with everyone else in the wrong direction and seen as I hadn't got a ticket I had to jump the barrier when I did get to my stop

Last time I went (Burnley), we left the ground, were on a train in 5 mins and back at Kings Cross in no time.

That said, it was the one and only benefit of wanting to get the hell out of there the moment the 90mins were up. :(

Yep, we did the same, off as soon as the final whistle went and managed to get an earlier train from Euston. Problem we had going our way would have been sharing the train with Burnley fans :(

Same here although we had tickets for later trains from Kings Cross as it was a bank holiday they were valid on any train, 100s piled onto the 1st train available which didn't stop till Donny 85 mins later was in our house just after 8.00pm

I'd prefer OT aswell. Wembley is just an extortionate pain in the arse to get to/from. Give me an hour over the Woodhead any day.
I don't doubt at all that if we were to win a play off final, I would just love for ever whatever ground..Last Play Off final at Wembley (no problem transport-wise) we thought we we'd got great seats, front row of the 3rd tier. .If we get there again, I'll opt for back (ish) of 1st tier. View was perfect, but so detatched, it was like watching on tv (I wish)..Millenium stadium much the same, just a marginally better day out..Old Wembley, as steeped in history as it was, was for that reason alone a bit better..OT was a mare to get away from (for me!)..Unfortunately being able to see Poll's tackle on Tonge didn't improve my experience!..Love visitting London, no desire to live there, still remains my venue of choice for a final
