Bit more work rate, keeping Choudhury in midfield:

I agree it could’ve worked. Tricky thing is that equally I could see Brewster up top failing to have a lot of things stick. And suddenly you’re foolish for not bringing Moore on. But as it was, I think it was Moore’s rustiness which was the single biggest difference maker on our side of the ball. The other was BC having to go for it.

What would you have done differently? Genuinely. The Hamer and Brewster subs changed the game for us. Campbell had to come off. Seriki the same. We’re not the only team to struggle with a 1-0 lead in a nervy game.
We didn’t hold our nerve. With 77 (79) points we’ve shown we can more often than not.

It seems our fanbase are the ones who can’t handle pressure either!

Gone top of the league, added to our total against a team who are on good form and 90% of the threads are moaning.

I don’t want us to become a self-entitled fanbase. Taking 4 points from Bristol City who are pushing for the top 6 and in good form is a decent return.

This is the problem though Bergen Blade

There were not glaringly obvious alternatives when we are trying to eek minutes out of players. You have to put McCallum, a predominantly left footed player at right back.

If Wilder had done that and he’d have been skinned by their wide players, he’d have been copping flack for that too.

He has to make decisions in real time and I’d imagine a lot of them at game 37 are fitness driven as much as not. It’s a tough balancing act. It’s easy for us to be an armchair fan. It’s like being in opposition at government. We can say what we would have done and how the outcome would have been different but we’re safe in the knowledge that this will never be known!

Not having a go at you by the way. I just don’t think there were obvious changes that he failed to make. Not every change comes off. Not every player comes on and plays well. It can’t always be done to the manager, especially when we cough up possession. He’s not telling them to do that.

A rested and fit full back filling in at full back isn't a huge experiment in terms of dealing with things defensively. Choudhury is hardly put there for his mazy runs or quality right footed crosses. I think he's a very good holding midfielder and should have stayed there.

I know options were limited, and agree Wilder may have been criticised if we'd conceded from a corner and Moore hadn't been brought on.

But there weren't enough defensive qualities in that side when they pushed on, and if it was too difficult to see that in real time, hopefully the post match analysis will show it.

This is where the manager can’t win. You’ve rightly pointed out the line up was in fact quite attacking. Yet Wilder is simultaneously being criticised for asking them to drop deep and being too defensive!

The performance overall wasn’t good. But the bloke also can’t win at times. It’s difficult for players over so many games to retain good form.
