Many won't like it and say that the whole of Bramall Lane should be a singing section, but it simply isn't anymore and we need to get together and do something now more than ever.

It doesn't need to be embarrassing, full of flags and dickheads bouncing up and down to europop. Just genuine blades who want to sing blades songs and get behind blades players and then hopefully get the rest of the ground joining in as well.

Its become the norm to pay money to sit in silence for 90 minutes i can't understand the enjoyment in it and I can't see how it supports the team. Yes financially your supporting the club but your not spurring the team on or providing any vocal support/mental stability to the players.

it's as if people are turning up to pass a bit of time, then go home.

Sadly, even though that is 100% what is needed, you'd be surprised how much of a negative reaction that gets from sneering pricks.

We have enough empty seats to make something happen if enough of us want to. There's space on the Kop but we've also got the lower tier open for now. So if a number of us wanted to gather in the same part of the ground to try and create an atmosphere we've got options.

I'd certainly go along with it. I think a lot of fans would. Why not?

It would be a good idea to get something established in the lower tier while we've got the chance.

With social media as it is nowadays with the HashtagTwitterBlades etc then it shouldn't be difficult to organise.

Completely agree. The lower tier is currently open for one more game and we've just under 2 weeks to sort it if there's enough interest. If it works I'm sure the club would see the advantage of keeping it open for the rest of the season.

It wouldn't even take many either. If those fans meant it then just 150 or so is more than enough to make decent noise. And that would be a start.

Could just be the difference. Now who on here has a big enough mouth to get the idea rolling would be the next question

Who has the most Twitter followers! The S24SU account has 10,000+. The club's account would probably even publicise it.

Bring back goal music for a start. Love me a bit of Tom Hark or 7 Nation Army.

No, let's not. But if we do, please, please not Tom fucking Hark. That's basically saying "we're a really shit football club with really shit fans and most of us are faggots".

The atmosphere last night was not very good but people can turn up to a night game, after just finishing a tiresome day at work, sit the fuck down, chill out and watch the Blades entertain us for the money we pay without worrying that not creating an intimidating atmosphere or singing a song will have a detrimental effect on the team? Now it would be fucking ridiculous to think otherwise.

I love an atmosphere for my son more than anything but let's not make this out to be the reason the team doesn't play so well, if so then why havent we had a thread saying thanks to the fans great vocal and intimidating support on getting us to the top of the league? I'll tell you why, because it's absolute bollocks either way, if a player can't get up for a game with the money he's been paid, or the motivation he gets from his manager who also gets paid handsomely for doing so and to walk out in front of 20,000 fans then fuck em all for me.

The loss of atmosphere at the lane is a worry it falls way below what i experienced as a young pup, i was lucky enough to have a season on the blut that was awesome 97 i think, but in all honesty the rest of the ground was pretty vocal. Back then we used to try and out sing each other. So im sorry but 150 fans on the lower tier are not going to make much difference. We have an atmoshphere expecting failure because thats all I hear im sure most of you lot do too. All positivity has been drained in a way i can understand it but why not stay at home listen and mumble to the fukin radio. What about if you dont sing your not coming in day??

This is ridiculous. I love an atmosphere. Some have been amazing already this season. I feel really self conscious if sang, we already have a unofficial singing section it's called back of kop. So don't push the blame on the other stands & I'm there to watch a football match if I want to go pay money & have a sing-song for 2 hrs. I'll go watch ella eyre or foxes in concert

I've been going (scarely) 19yrs ive seen the lows ive seen the high, because I don't sing doesn't mean I'm not every bit as passionate as the other 19000 fans. Sure people in front of me sick of me kicking every ball. What doesn't help the atmosphere is huge amount of tension at this club now because of huge disappointment in recent yrs, where do you want to start
2011/12 - where we cocked it up twice (maybe 3 times) at MK Dons Exeter & Huddersfield.
2012/13 - top at xmas, petered out to scraping into play offs losing to Yeovil in toothless 2nd leg
2013/14 - under weir we couldve got relegated but Clough saves us
2014/15 - brilliant cup run, but times poor league performances, outplayed for 135mins of Swindon & 5-1 down at 1 point
2015/16 - if we all forget about it, maybe we can erase it from history

We can joke about stress, heart attacks, difficult route & the United way. But let's be honest no will admit it but we are all think it the reason why it was deathly quiet was because we all waiting & expecting it to go pear shaped, that abject 1st 20mins following the Gillingham game & the Sunday league defending. Only enhanced the fact that every fan thinking oh "something" its happening again & its worse than the previous times. Because i let myself get my hopes up & think what could be in may

Even living in Australia I've realised there are supporters here who sing for more minutes a game than any club in England I have ever been to.

That link is to show what a Melbourne Victory game is like. Btw whoever mentioned 7 nations army as goal music I agree fully.

They play the same teams every year and most teams don't bring more than a 100 person away following.
Players appreciate a rocking atmosphere so much and I 100% believe that it can really help results swing a teams way. If your moaning about the atmosphere... stand up and sing your lungs out and if you see someone doing it join in. Don't just sit there and criticise everyone for not singing. If everyone reading this forum who goes to home games made an effort then something could happen. Until then, don't expect much...

We have been mocked by fleetwood for our shite atmosphere, could it get any more embarrassing.

Yesterday was silent the whole game, one of the shittest blandest atmospheres ever experienced in the history of football. I have no doubt that this made the players nervous, when they can hear every individual groan in a flat but tense atmosphere your not going to play your best. You're going to be very concious of the atmosphere and over think everything you do.

Ah! It's all becoming clear now! We're averaging over 20k crowds in our sixth season in the third tier and - contrary to some opinions - the football has hardly been scintillating (better than last season, yes, but that wouldn't be difficult) so the lack of atmosphere is all down to the fans? Tell you what. If we're still in this division next season and we're down to a (still remarkable) 15k, maybe you can blame the fans for being 'disloyal'.

Being mocked by fleetwood 'a bus stop in blackpool' for our shit support to me is more embarrassing than losing itself.

No, the true embarrassment on Tuesday happened on the pitch, not in the stands.

The lane is a library, its embarrassing. The atmosphere is embarrassing and the game was not good, but far from embarrassing.

The game being shit is made worse by a shitter atmosphere. Some of the best most memorable games i've been too weve lost. The atmospheres were electric. What could of been a shit day becomes an experience regardless of the result and made enjoyable. Sitting in silence and watching your team loose and paying 20-30 for the privilege is the worst combo.

I find it depressing to be at the lane these days its a fucking morgue. Que abuse.

yeah and im sorry but spreading our fans out is not the answer why do we have home fans in westfield corner and now bllt when theres hundreds of seats empty in john st and shoreham surely get all our support in 3 sides and get more atmosphere although how fleetwood fans can have a pop at us after bringing 100 fans when your team is 4th and going for promotion borders on the ridicoulous think things can only get better noise wise some cracking home games coming up with good away support expected and thats when our fans are at there best

So the games we've lost are the most memorable and best?

The 'C' before 'inks' in your username should surely be an 'O' and could perhaps explain your outbursts at our fans?

It is as poor as I can remember given the season we're having. But I'm sure it'll change if and when we're back in the Championship. Big games and underdog status will see things back to how they should be.

im sure it will get better when we hit scunny and bolton games 2000 plus away fans in will create a lot more noise from our fans and were gonna have to get right behind the team in those games weve dominated this league for most of the season and fans just turning up expecting us to win all our home games

We absolutely take over away grounds, i'm not saying we can keep that up week in week out @ home but even if a small section on each side of the ground put a shift in it would make a difference.

The Kop has led from the front for years, no wonder they're starting to fall away - you get absolutely nothing from the other two stands!

i'm going to the home match vs Bolton, planning to leave with no voice + 3 pts UTB

it's currently wank because this season's fixtures and occasions (as they have been for 6 years) are disproportionate to the club's size and as such inspiration requirements. Top, middle or bottom of the league, the Lane will not rock hosting the 'mighty' Fleetwood, Bury or any chuff else we're now all bored to tears by. It just won't. On actual big occasions I'll leave earlier for the ground, smash home more ales as i'm naturally more excited and come the game I'm amongst similarly buoyed/pissed Blades. The place has it's infectious buzz.

On Tuesday however i only just made kick off as couldnt really be arsed. Zero buzz about the place and i'd already switched to the Westfield UT for a better view so wasn't anticipating any sort of home noise at all. The game was fucking awful and you'd be insane to think thousands of 'die hard passionate Blades' would rally behind em. It pisses me off as much as any other forum urchin but it's reality.

Whether this sounds arrogant or not, our home silence reflects the fact we're too big for the league as we just can't feel the excitement. Even if we go up, i recon the general emotion will be relief not elation. And it totally goes against us as conversely, a few buses from Arsehole of Nowhere FC are on the day trip of their lives. This is unfair on Wilder and the lads but it's just the way it is. Next season, if home to Forest, Muckrollers, Leeds etc then the buzz will return several fold.

think youve summed it up perfectly lip never be any great atmospheres while were playing in this shit league but im sure it will pick up as we get near the finishing line and next season when were in the championship

You'll get no abuse from anyone who recognises uncomfortable truths. You are absolutely right. The risibly self-entitled 'best fans in the land' spectate rather than support.

They've paid their money, you see.

Some absolute bollocks on this thread about how it's all the clubs fault over the last 5 years. I sing anyway, despite the last 5 years. What's your real fucking excuse?

There isn't one. There is an explanation though. Our Trappist fans are too busy wallowing in self-entitlement, misery and cap-doffing to support their own team at the Lane Library.

Looking forward to the shouts of "Gerrit it up to Hanson" ?

It's a bit cringe isn't it. We're top of the league and free scoring with a massive chance to stop playing these so called small teams and get in amongst it again. Can't understand why you'd struggle to muster enthusiasm for that.

Too busy shrivelling up in a quiet corner of the Lane Library in awe of the opposition to think about that I'm afraid.

Happily Tufty has made it crystal clear that he's going to carry on playing the right way, whatever the Hoofers do or say. I've noticed some welcome contributions from you in recent times, by the way. It doesn't go unnoticed. Credit where it's due.

My mantra is you always stand the best chance of winning when playing to your strengths this squad is mostly made up of good ball players and it was painful in the first four games seeing the likes of Fleck and Duffy bypassed when we were hitting long balls to Clarke.

If Wilder says that's not how we are going to use Hanson then good, but I will judge it when I see how we play with him in the side.
