Atmosphere at the Lane

You act differently when you watch the match and maybe look like a fool. but who cares when most people around you act the same way.
You more or less do what you want without causing trouble. swearing at the referee time waiting on the pitch etc. all part of the game. if you don,t want to sing or make noise.no problem your choice. I love going to Bramall Lane to watch The Red and White Wizards.

And that’s absolutely fine. But if I’m sat on the kop nobody has the right to tell me how loud I have to be.
No agreed, but you should also accept that one day the club might (and hopefully will) say - "we're trying to improve the atmosphere, and your seat is not guaranteed to be yours, as it has been allocated to a safe standing singing section".

There's no getting away from it, those who are sitting in the traditional singing parts of the ground but now sit there like cardboard cut outs, are part of the problem of lack of atmosphere, whatever their current right to sit like a cardboard cut out.

Culminating in a finale of Dean Hammond renewing his contract, Hawkeye being switched off at Villa Park and a shot of the queue for a pint on the Kop
And a clip of Tevez signing for West Ham and Hans Segers 'attempting' to save Everton's goals at Goodison in '94.

Just say "no" to cardboard cut outs on the Kop. Not Bladey enough. Sing up or you're out! 😄

Far too many people shout 'Siddarn' when you stand on the kop. These twats need ousting. If you want a sit down the whole match - regardless of how exciting the game is please don't buy a ticket on the kop. It really does spoil it for proper koppites who want to stand up jump about and scream and shout like f*** at the slightest bit of attacking play.

Just watched a fan YouTube video of todays where the Burnley fan was impressed with the atmosphere at Bramall Lane.
It's becoming a common trend that away fans seem to highlight regards how intimidating we can make it.

It reminded me of similar comment regards the atmosphere at the previous home match.
Click the YouTube link and listen to the 1st 2 minutes where the very experienced reporter for Norwich City describes Bramall Lane.
Even he admits that when Bramall Lane is rocking it's one of them special places in English football.

Don't think I've ever seen 3 more entertaining memorable successive home matches at the Lane
and in return the atmosphere has been brilliant and impressive at all 3 games. (Blackpool, Norwich and now Burnley).
The Merry Millers up next. Hope it continues.

Love this guy's ending - "have lots of fun, eat cake and goodbye" Brilliant !

Are these 'proper Koppites' the ones that boo if we are behind at half time or lose the game ? Do these 'proper Koppites' make scapegoats of individual players if the team is performing badly ?

Just asking because when I stand at the back of the Kop, this is exactly what many of what you describe as 'proper Koppites' do. Maybe we should oust these from the Kop first and replace them with fans who will support the team all the time and not get on their backs when the going gets tough.

I was in H on Satdi. First time since the Warnock days. Crackin atmosphere and will be relocating there next season.
I'd try it a few more times before you make that decision, if that's based on the atmosphere. I could hear the South Stand on Saturday from the kop - but sadly that's a rarity.

Games like saturday though do just reiterate how good not having VAR is.

For all 5 goals it was euphoria and with a quick turn to the linesman you could see a goal has been given and celebrate. I think all 5 goals on Saturday would have had an element of doubt to them if you were sat in the stands and VAR was in force. There were melees in the box or tight offside decisions, it would have been a bit of a dampener every time the goal went in waiting for the decision on the screen.

On the whole I think people quite like the Lane. It's got a good location, character and the atmosphere is decent. Besides Wednesday I've never really heard any none daft criticism of the ground.
Albert wasn't all that impressed, as I recall

The answer is to have a Seniors section demarcated like a Family Enclosure, or regularise the pricing for Seniors across the ground. People can choose to sit in that area.

No they're dickheads..

I'm normally at the top of E but went on the BL Stand for the Brum game. Best atmosphere is top of the Kop without a doubt but I found the BLUT to be fine. What you lose in atmosphere, you gain in the view and the ability to get a pint at half time (if you queue for 15 minute). Price of ticket was similar to the Kop too.

Baldock was offside for me for the 5th.

Our 1st I'm not sure it was a corner.

Be great not having any of the bollox waiting for 5 minutes

Great idea. We could have a seniors singing section where we would start off with Ilkley Moor and finish wirh My Old Man or Harry Roberts is Our Friend

Yet there wasn't exactly uproar amongst the Burnley fans as far as I can tell. Two marginal decisions that went our way on this occasion. We've had a fair few against us already and they tend to even themselves out over the course of the season.

It's why I hate this VAR obsession with interfering with every single tight call in a match. The vast majority of these VAR decisions that get overturned after about 5 minutes are ones you wouldn't even look at twice normally. This season I could probably count the amount of genuine 'clear and obvious' errors on one hand. The rest are marginal calls that could have gone either way.

We're one of only a handful of teams in the country to have experienced both sides of VAR (with/without), and I think most fans would agree it is 1000% better without VAR in the Championship.

Can we add Ricky to the page again so he can re-introduce his BLUT singing section idea?

Would need a senior standing area too then. Could go next to the LGBTQ standing section which in turn could be next to the Klingon standing section...

And we could all take rattles, and chant 2, 4, 6, 8… Refreshments available would include OXO. No mobile phones allowed, just Wednesday’s score going up every 15 minutes, with a half-time manual scoreboard. Wes would invite one of us onto the pitch to join in the pre-match practice. I’m warming to this idea…

For the corner there was a bit from those close by. Linesman got some right abuse for giving it. And then when players were celebrating

I was fairly close and wasn't sure which way it should have gone.

I fully agree with VAR running the moment. And about time we had some luck.

Niether of decision I mention were clear cut wrong. In fact they may have been correct.
