Very happy. I thought we played well too, a deserved win.
I know what you mean but if only it was that simple.I hope Wilder grows a pair and allows us to try get more goals and not sit back
I appreciate we needed the points but we could easily have conceded as we have done many many times in the past and thrown away leads by allowing the opposition at us!
Really? I thought we played quite well, created some chances, and generally looked the better side. Not a dominant win or anything, Oxford had periods of possession, but I thought that we deserved it, on the balance of things. One of our worse performances of the season….we looked nervous
.thought Oxford were terrible and based on chances Oxford probably thought they deserved a draw.
However a win is a win….at this stage it’s all about the result not the performance….so well done.
Hopefully it will give us some confidence.
Huge result - need to build on this now. The thing that baffles me is when we start to play football and eventually score a goal Wilder time and time again decides to break it up and sub off any attack threat and goes fully defensive. We can’t do this against better sides, we would have lost if that was against a better side.

I certainly didn’t think it was one of the worst of the season, but I do agree that Oxford were generally poor.

yes confidence issue but the amount of times we thrown games away because of wilder tactics.. last example .. Sunderland..Agreed, although as you said we just needed the win.
We can attack teams and attack quite well but its a confidence issue.
We're probably going to win the league
And probably ends on Tuesday Gav!!Great win, the season starts now!
Oxford had more shots but I don’t think they ever threatened to score until the final 10 minutes. First half wasn’t great but in the second half (up until about the 70th minute) I thought we’d done well enough to win the game. I do agree about going negative after scoring, it immediately makes us more vulnerable. All the in game stats (apart from corners) show Oxford were better, so arguably they deserved the win.
We had just 6 shots the whole match compared to Oxford 14 shots.
Think we looked higher quality but that’s because Oxford were a direct hit and hope side relying on goal mouth scrambles.
We always looked like we had a extra gear but had clutch problems so we were stuck in 1st gear.
The positive was the 10 minutes leading up to our goal.
We played a bit like we did last season and were starting to dominate Oxford pinning them back.
The negative was the last 10 minutes….Oxford just booted it into our box and our defenders panicked just booting it out back to them.
I have never seen a shitting dog waiting for full time.Shekking like a shitting dog waiting for FT!
Literally just about the 3 points, we needed the duck off our backs and how the players are fragile and confidence is low, I fully understand why wilder had done this.Huge result - need to build on this now. Oh we were poor. We are poor. But we are going to win the league regardlessAgree…..what you find is that when ever we lose we played rubbish….sack the manager
And when we win….its amazing how we’ve always played well.
Thought we were good for 10 minutes leading up to the goal…the rest of the time we were poor
But maybe it was a case of Oxford dragging us down to their standard, they played kick and rush, fought well but no quality.
