Here's one Villa player that will get a good reception on Saturday:
No doubt Warnock will be fuming that after asking for him to be loaned back again he's gone elsewhere, but provided Kyle gets some regular football he can't really complain - he needs to be tested at Premiership level, and he certainly will be if he plays in that Villa defence!
Aston Villa manager Gerard Houllier has confirmed that the club have signed Tottenham Hotspur defender Kyle Walker.
Houllier confirmed that the club had signed Walker on loan until the end of the season at the press conference, following Villa's 1-0 defeat at home to Sunderland.
"We were looking for full-backs and Kyle Walker is [arriving] on loan from Tottenham, I can confirm that," Houllier told reporters.
Houllier had been looking for cover for the right back position, as Luke Young has been sidelined by a knee injury.
That left the Villa manager with youngster Eric Lichaj and Carlos Cuellar, a central defender, to fill the void so the signing will be a lift to the squad.
Walker has spent the first half of the season on loan at Championship leaders Queens Park Rangers and manager Neil Warnock made no secret of his desire to keep him in London.
The 20-year-old has found himself being sent out to gain experience, despite playing quite a lot during Spurs' tour of the US during summer, after finding his chances at Spurs restricted by the impressive form of Alan Hutton.
Walker moved to White Hart Lane in a deal that saw his team mate Kyle Naughton join him in the switch from Sheffield United.
