Unless I’m the thick one I think the OP Davalon is posting the definition of asset stripping to show those who aren’t that bright and are accusing the club of asset stripping that they’re talking bollocks.

Maybe I’ve been reversed whooshed though and I should be piling in on him like some others have?!

1. We weren’t an ‘unsuccessful’ company, we’d got parachute payments and in a prime position bounce back.

2. We weren’t cheap. We cost £100m

3. Assets aren’t being sold cheaply, we’re getting way over fair market value. Most people have been shocked at how we’ve been able to make profit on some players and sell some crap ones.

4. If they were genuinely asset stripping they’ve have sold off the HSBC land, Shirecliffe, the ground etc… to their own companies and got SUFC to rent it from them. Like McCabe did.

The owners aren’t covering themselves in glory at the moment but you can FRO with this uneducated, idiotic wibble.
You've misunderstood if you think I'm saying they're asset stripping.

I posted descriptions for those who are daft enough to keep claiming it.

Thank goodness for that, I thought I was being a bit thick for a minute!

More likely they've no real money, gambled on us going up and now, er.
I hope I'm wrong but the fact that we've entirely and predictively lost some good 1st team players - with no adequate replacements whatsoever in sight - makes me fear the worst.
Well if they had no real money, they wouldn't be our owners.

One of the more stringent EFL owners tests (which are said to be a lot more strict these last few years) is to provide actual proof of funds.

You fail that test (or any of the other tests), EFL will reject your takeover bid.

That's very true but there's a world of financial difference between being well able to keep a club afloat and having real money to spend on players when they're desperately needed - like literally now.
Maybe they are playing poker but like I've said before given our desperate need for at least CB's that price has gone up several notches. Maybe we are in the middle of negotiations for three or four players who will be an improvement on the players we've sold and let go.
Time will tell.

I'm sorry, but the idea that the new owners have come in with the intention of asset stripping the club, is complete hogwash!
Well please enlighten us all as to what you think they are doing? because if this has been McCabe or the Prince they would have been crucified by now.

COH Sport are clearly another set of chancers who don't even bother to communicate with the fans.

They either need to invest or sell up and get out of our club because we deserve better than people who don't give a shit.

If there was somebody better placed to run the club waiting in the wings why didn’t they bother trying to buy the club when it was up for sale?

As it stands COH are the richest set of people in the world who want to own Sheffield United.

TBF I could have perhaps been clearer with the OP.

It did cross my mind after the first reply that it could be misconstrued.

I've just found it ridiculous how many people on here and other platforms have used the phrase.

I even heard it in the Beer Engine on Saturday night.

Well l’m heading towards the camp that believes the new owners are know nothing charlatans. For asset strippers, they keep spending money rather than taking it out! How does that work?

(Shakes fist at Snek)

They are doing just that, we just don't know how, why or even where. 😄

Underwhelms by our business thus far ….

Out go proven performers Anel and Vinnie and I fully expect Gus to be gone

And with the exception of Tiganga all others are mid table standard….

With a smattering of AI signings who won’t be anywhere near the first team … over the hill players looking for one last pay day… and unproven youngsters who haven’t had the best spells at other clubs Lowe down than us…

Deff no strategy to recruitment and we will see that in results on the pitch

I hope something sticks and we fly up the table but if does it will be through more luck than judgement

Neither Ahmedhodzic or Souza were proven when they signed for us.

Its easy to quote due to the nature of what has happened however realistically we are a championship club and if decent offers come in they have to be considered, we don't have the appeal of playing in the top tier and need to earn that right again. With a new manager it is good we are moving on the old guard/asset stripping however you want to label it as, this team should be a Selles side with players that he wants in his formation rather than sticking with players that don't fit the mold.
But he's proving he is shit

But you got the impression they had been well thought out considered signings … I don’t get that impression with any of ours so far

So there’s no recruitment strategy but the said non-existent one might work and then it would only be lucky?
Maybe the strategy is to get lucky.

It has worked for me on many a night out.

But you've probably failed on countless others and ended up down the massage parlour....

Similar start to Wilder, personally I think Selles has got until the October International break to show if he is good enough and can adapt with more experience players about him and now there isn't any excuses as we have plugged the vast majority of gaps (RB is here or there). Its think its going to need a shift in formation, its whether you go for 3 CB's or a straight back 4, we had chances against Boro and gave away a poor goal. Tanganga looked like he could make the difference and is a solid signing which is something to build on. If Ogbene stays fit we have some proper pace which is to Selles strength in a 4-3-3. It is working out how Ings plays a role if they go 2 up top in a 3-5-2, a 4-3-3, a or a 4-2-2-2 (type of variation) making use of wingers, DM's and still having forward options.

Selles should be sacked if we lose against Ipswich, no matter who he picks, they will have no idea with his daft tactics. Hamer has to pick the ball up well in his own half. He is our best player. He should be receiving the Ball in the opposition half the passing the ball to the wingers. Cannon playing number seven on the wing. This shows Selles has no idea how to play football.

There’s always one left over at the end of the night that looks a bit like this…

Shall we wait to see what happens at Ipswich before second guessing what mistakes he might make ?
If we play with positivity (orse known as vertically) and create chances, without being sieve-like at the back then I will wait a few more matches before considering his ability.

Snowflake. In my opinion, Selles is the wrong manager for us. We will lose at Ipswich. However, if He proves me wrong by winning games.
I will apologise.

You may well be correct, but until we see what he does with a full squad it’s difficult to be sure.
I too hope that he proves to be good and we see us climbing up the league to 6th place.

Not sure how people are criticising the recruitment

Played RND & JLT - both gone and replaced with infinitely better players
Weak in midfield - matos bought, soumare loaned
Only buying AI unknowns - Ings, Mee, Jaff, ogbene, chong
No pace/wingers - ogbene Chong

Kept cooper & Hamer

Apart from Liverpool, most sides would say could be better, but to criticise that is harsh, especially before seeing them play in fully stacked team
