He’s had a poor time of it at Everton, but by all accounts has been better at Stoke and he continues to be reliable when he’s played for Wales, though Giggs has opted to give younger alternatives a go of late (he’s been gradually eased out, a bit like Gunter). That said we may start him later on at Croatia due to injuries.

I wouldn’t let his time at Everton completely cloud his overall ability. I’d see him as backup for Egan – his best football for Wales was probably for the Euros campaign when he was in the middle of a 3 with Chester & Davies. But unless Stearman is wanting to move for regular football I wouldn’t bother bringing him in.

Equally as pointless as signing Jags would be.
Though interestingly everyone is against this lad whereas some would take Jags

Jagielka certainly has some versatility. Williams could effectively only do one position adequately for us, whereas I think Jags could cover the middle and right CB slots.

Oh God no, I have not played for 10 years & have a dodgy hip but I would back myself against him any day!
Car crash of a centre half.

We still need PL experience though- the defence is going from facing £10m strikers to £50m + , so defenders that have the intelligence to know how to deal with such attacks and to fit into our tactics are a priority. Irelands Duffy showed why he is ahead of Egan last night in Irelands team, and he just avoided relegation .

They fill the sports section in newspapers with this crap every year, the guys nowhere near the standard, he wouldn't get in our team!

What a load of crap.

One of most overrated centre backs in recent years. Not worth 5 grand a week never mind the 30 grand a week he 'll probably be asking.

Richard Keogh showed last night why John Egan should be in the ROI team. Ask their fans they think the same.

Stoke fans said he was shit so why would we want him in premier league

Why, because despite having experience at the top level his form has fallen off a cliff. His 'experience' of dealing with 50m players means nothing because he can't deal with them himself, so how is he supposed to pass any knowledge down.

He is the kind of player that fits a club, was fine for Swansea, awful everywhere else.

I'd rather bring Shaun Murphy back at his current age.

No chance. He’s the opposite of a Wilder signing and was dreadful for Stoke last season. Spent force.
