Tufty has made it clear many times as well: ‘we have to wait’ ‘not in a position to blow anyone out of the water’ and other such terminology.

It’s pretty clear who are targets were and now are. Nixon only tends to confirm that.

Hogan, I’m sure, was and remains a primary target. I also believe CW would bring in a second striker (he said from the outset he wanted two and in my view McG was an unexpected extra) if the market opens up. Fletcher it seems, is a much more recent interest, no doubt because Gallagher is unattainable.

Let’s hope the little metal ball falls on our number, for once.
