....5 points adrift tonight, farewell Championship, farewell Europe in 5 years, farewell another 6000 season ticket holders....

Hello League 1

Thanks so much McCabe, you have systematically stripped this club of quality over the last 2 years, failed to find replacements or a decent manager to bring in those replacements, thrown good money away and now the denouement for us: League One football.

Thanks you cunt.

Without a doubt.

That said, no season ticket this season, if the prices are right next, I'll get one if only for the lolz.

Couldn't really give a shit myself Houso, I'm 39 now and my first year supporting the Blades we were relegated to Div 4, (1980) got used to the shit but fuck-it, once a Blade always a Blade, don't really care if we win, lose or draw, apathy has well and truly set in!

Win our next game it could be back to this morning's position. No idea how we actually win a game though....

I'm trying to look at this way...

Next season:
Championship - another season of mediocrity and disappointment. Same old same teams we've got used to for the last two decades. The only real rivalry against two nothing South Yorkshire sides.
OR
League 1 - a season of hope with possible wins and that feeling of promotion again. New teams who will enjoy their trip to another big stadium. The potential for youngsters to come through in a lesser division. The return of the Sheffield derby and the potential for another local derby against Roth and one against Chesterfield.

Now, this is as glass half full as it comes and everyone is welcome to give the prospect of another season of horror, but fuck it, you've got to be a little bit optimistic haven't you.

Hello League 1

You for got to say hello chesterfield and if Rotherham go up we could end up the lowest placed team in the area.

We'll have a right laugh in League 1 for a change. It might wear thin, but fuck it.

I said the other day, I'm tempted now to go to the bookies to see what odds they will give me that we don't win again this season. Its not something I hope at all, but I seriously think it can happen.

It happened to the pigs in 74/75 - they won in Dec 74 v Southampton, then didn't win again til August 75.

I posted this elsewhere and will stick by it:

We are now 5 points behind 20th.

We can't keep saying "We didn't deserve that", "We were unlucky", if he did this and that.... blah, blah, blah!

We are going DOWN! end of.

What I'd like to see is: Send all the loans go back and let the kids have a go until the end of the season. The players that are on the fringes can then get games for next season where they are at that level. After all we would be sending them out to teams at that level next season anyway. We save some money to boot.

There is no solution to this, we are playing well but not beating the sides around us. That is nailed on Relegation and we should now be blooding the players we will need on smaller wages for L1.

I know it's February, but 2 more games and that's that. The only thing that I don't want is confirmation on 19th March (H) Leeds Utd or 30th April (H) Barnsley, cause that would be devastating to the club.

My Thoughts

I know this type of post will be decried, but how long does Micky get?

Is that 12 games now since he came in and still no win? If we go the next 5 without three points, is that it? Or is he in charge regardless of where we are next season?

McCabe bowed to fan pressure by getting rid of Blackwell. Yes he has made some bad decisions. But i would say our over critical, kneejerk reacting fans shoulder a large part of the blame for all this.

Well and truly reaping what we've sown for the last two years.
And for those thinking it's going to be fun and wins aplenty next season, deary me.
For the rest of the season, there might be something in sending some of the loans back but then we've probably got contractual arrangements to fulfil.
As for McCabe, we've got his legacy and I hope he's ashamed of what he's done.

Give over, the sack was a complete surprise.
It's about the players more than anything and the shameful, absolutely shameful lack of planning culminating in the entirely bleedin' predictable revolving door and relegation.
That the club had the fucking cheek to say the same thing wouldn't happen again after last season just puts the tin hat on it.

Well said lenners. There's every chance that we could follow the lead of swfc next season. The club will have to endure more misery before the end of the season, during next season and probably into 2012/13 before it is sorted out. I know it is depressing, but I really feel there is a cancer within the club and that it needs weeding out.

Ask Grunters about the level of lolz they're enjoying.

How long would we have given other managers if they hadn't won for god knows how long? 12 games is pretty impressive!

I like MA and think he could get things right if he had a few quid to throw around but it's looking like too much now.

The fault does lie in the planning and management. It's been chaotic.

There are teams at this level who survive on our budget. But we just continued with short-termism of the parachute years. Not clever.

Oddly, the first poster who would be climbing into a post like that (usually going with his "sky falling in" line) is.......??;)

Remarkably, we're not even showing the fight Wednesday did when they went down.
We're just folding pathetically.
As for Adams, he was dealt a rough hand but even Irvine managed to conjure some wins up - good wins at that - when he came in.
We've just got even worse.
If McCabe did over-rule Birch over SOD, he's probably put the club back even further because we currently have no short-term, medium-term or long-term plan. Just a complete and utter mess.

Just a complete and utter mess.

Can't disagree.

Wonder when they're going to be brave enough to put ST renewal announcement out. If they're waiting for a win, they're never get round to it.

McCabe speculated in our first season back in the Championship. This is the flip side of speculation, where it all goes wrong. The wrong managers, too much money on the wrong players. I dont see where we go next year. I doubt the academy will supply much (how many clubs' academies turn out more than two or three first teamers every three or four years). I thought Adams would have kept us up, I doubt very much whether anyone would have had much effect. I will still be looking forward to the first game in August no matter what league we are in lets just hope something comes along!

Just listening to Mickey now on RS.
Still some fight in him which is admirable but i think he privately accepts that we are League 1 next year.

OK, infraction due. Complete and utter bollocks. We sacked him right at the start of the season. There wasn't enough time for fan pressure to build up.

2 more mistakes by McCabe. Not sacking him at the end of the season, then sacking him 3 gmes in.

The fans have been super patient givem the absolute crap they've been served up for an age now. I don't know if you attend BDTBL, but there's rarely any real booing, despite week after week of complete dross.

The fans are not to blame.

We've nothing to lose now.....IMHO we're all but down.......We need to use the rest of the season to take stock, experiment and try the youngsters out..... We're getting nowhere fast with the shower of shit we call the "first team"......We could have the best manager in the world and he wouldn't be able to lick this of set wankers in to shape!!!
