Arblaster about another year off match sharpness, fitness….was even that good to begin with or was he carried by Souza and a better team??

Peck, Christ, feel for the lad. Not with it.

Together, immaturity shows in their position play and the ability to run.

Even fully fit, Arblaster is a modest athlete and that’s putting it kindly. Not strong, tall or fast.

Plenty of good midfielders have had the same physicality, but they had to make up for it with immense technical ability and use of the ball. Modric, Scholes and Pirlo at the top level and the likes of Fleck, Norwood, Bannan and Tommy Doyle at this level.

Right now Arblaster is a playing like an average footballer failing to mask his shortcomings as an athlete.

We've seen before how good Arblaster can/will be. He'll have a top career. But he's been really badly managed since he came back as he is nowhere near ready unless he's alongside someone that isn't Peck. They both need an experiences leader next to them.

I'd love to see Peck and Arblaster in the middle for years to come but they are still a year or two from being at the level where they can actually be a partnership.

Based on how open our team can look through the middle, particularly tonight and against Wrexham, I’d honestly have Soumare ahead of Arblaster at the moment just for his ability to cover ground.

Main 3 midfielders for the rest of the season needs to be Phillips, Jairo and Peck though.

they cant become a partnership because they play the same role

Arbalster shouldn't be starting rest of this season with Phillips here now.

Hes well off the pace and looks like his legs have gone. Its sad to see, but lost his pace and agility he can't get around the pitch.

Hoping a good preseason will help him but cant see how.

I'm afraid he cannot run and that's a big issue. He was never that fast but now he physically can't compete and players are running past him. I hope he gets back to a good level but he's miles off it at the moment.

Badly missing Reiderweld

Soumare is a bit erratic at times, but he's by far the best athlete in midfield. I don't understand why he wasn't even on the bench tonight when the alternatives are two players who aren't match fit (Rothwell, Phillips) and one player who just came back from a year long injury and clearly isn't at his best (Arblaster).

Wilder's team selections are frustrating sometimes.

Was Arblaster really that good prior to injury
I think not in the 12 games he played in the z championship last season he was none existent in 4 of them in the others carried by Souza

MF’s need to run, cleverly and intensely, Arblaster and Peck do neither. Watch them both if they or we lose possession, they don’t sprint. It’s a big problem if wilder sees them both as starters against Boro.

He's not miles off he's just off and that's enough at this level. Soumare can't be trusted, Davies a crock sadly hence bringing the new guys in.

Ideally Arblaster shouldn’t be anywhere near the starting 11 against one of the better teams in the division, given how hard they press in midfield.

The problem is we’ve only got Peck who’s ‘match fit’ alongside Soumare, who I doubt would have improved the midfield much. He would have at least given more athleticism, maybe cutting out more of the balls straight through us.

You have to wonder if CW has aome sense of loyalty to him and feels he ahould play him.By all accounts Arblaster is dating Evie Wilder and has been for quite a while now. 🤔
I doubt whether anything off field is relevant.

We know Arblaster's quality, after an injury as serious as he suffered it was bound to take time for him to get back to speed.

We've had to play him more than we'd have wanted during his recovery. In time he'll be back to where he was before being injured.

Pecks form came back when Reidewald was at the side of him , Arblaster still way off full fitness . As a pairing it’s no as they are too similar players . As said above they both need experience at the side of them , Philips likely to be that man now ⚔️

Olly should definitely been hooked after 25 minutes and replaced by Phillips or Phillips should have started the match and had 60 minutes. Boro lost their energy after 65 minutes but a ridiculous challenge by a player who had not played all season gave it to them. Disappointed with Wilders lineup tonight and plan B as they had 4 very mobile midfielders and front men,but how many times did we cough up possession.

Neither of them possess the ability to receive the ball and turn like top midfielders do. They both play it backwards or sideways.
Pretty much. Compare to Hackney for them. Considerable difference

But Arblaster was showing the ability to do this before the injury

Needs to be a bench player this season , not as effective as others in his position.
Not saying not as skillful or as good as footballer but a way down the pecking order with soumare , peck , Philips and jairo when fit .

Was always the wrong pair to start with, think everyone knew that. Because of fitness Soumare was the most viable option to play with Peck.

I will defend them slightly because they were given very little protection in that first half from Brooks / Hamer / O’Hare. Fair play we stepped on to them & had a go but after about 10 minutes they got to grips with us, bypassed our press and played quickly round Peck & Arblaster.

He is dating her..also he's coming back from a horrible injury which will take time to get back to his best..some of comments about him on here ..really
