But money has still been spent mate without anything to show, would have been better getting top loans in and paying the top wages! Still would have worked out cheaper and maybe still in prem with more cash coming in, I just don't buy let's all blame the non English not blade through and through prince and look at wilder as if he's no stain on his ring finger

Like above its not his money its pl prize money etc

Money won't make any difference if we get our back 3 back fit and then sell them.
Sell off a few clubs from United World and put the money it into our club.

I'm sure he will mate he's not failed us yet getting his cash out

Didnt sign one of his main transfer targets. Couldnt afford the wages you see.

Never failed though.

Fucking hell, and people talk about the cult of wilder...

Not breaking the wage structure was Wilders doing.
The manager gets allocated a transfer budget and that includes wages over the period of the contract.
Therefore he could’ve signed Watkins instead of Brewster if he wanted too but then probably wouldn’t have been able to sign the likes of Lowe and Bogle

That’s just not true / fair.

We were offering the half the wages of the likes of Villa. We didn’t need half the number of players.

This forced us to sign high risk, unproven, young players rather than proven PL talent.

You don’t think clubs have 1 budget for transfer fees and one for wages do you? It’s all out of the same pot.
The priority in the summer should’ve been to sort our luck of goals out, not to sign the back up full backs or get ripped off with a goalkeeper.
Wilder was the one who didn’t want to break the wage structure (which he’s always said) which is fine but don’t then cry about only having championship quality players

Yes, but there’s clearly been a cap on wages per week. Otherwise we’d have signed 3 free transfers on £80,000 per week.

I don’t abrogate Wilder from any responsibility regarding recruitment, but the budget has been the worst in the league. He made a silk purse out of it in season 1, but season 2 he couldn’t sustain it.

This isn’t a dig at you per se, but there has to become a point where we question why every time we get promoted we’re rummaging in the bargain bin whilst everything else is fitting out decent togs. We finished 9th in the league which gave us the first platform for two generations to push on. Yet the promoted teams are coming up and having a bigger wage bill than us, that’s an absolute joke.

Likes of fulham only spent a fraction of what we spent on transfer fees though which allowed them to pay bigger wages. It’s about finding the balance between fees and wages and we haven’t. That is down to both Wilder and the board

We went for Robinson, but the board wouldn’t offer competitive wages. How does that work on the Football Manager sliding scale of fees vs wages?

Abdullah must be the only Arab prince in living memory without a pot to piss in. He needs to sell up and go back to his camel ranch and 7 wives in the Saudi Dessert. He had to borrow money to buy out McCabe and now we are relegated watch what's left of the Shoreham silver get sold off at bargain bucket prices to be replaced by Premium has beens and league one trainees, we have after all seen the video before. He makes Chansiri look financially astute!

Casual racism isn't wanted.

You seem remarkably supportive of the owner.

He hasn’t got any cash out. He’s taken a lump of what Wilder’s earned him, and reinvested it.

History suggests it won’t.

We can, and will be a decent footballl club again. But sacking Wilder has ensured that we’ll be waiting a good number of years yet.

A quick look at available managers fills me with dread. The last thing we need is an uptick in form under the current lot, as I’m sure the Prince will be after a poodle next, to continue his FIFA 21 philosophy.

Does our next manager have to be out of work? I know it hasn’t generally been the done thing around here, especially whilst McCabe was still in sole charge, but it would be nice if we could take a manager that was currently doing well elsewhere, rather than simply picking the least bad jobless candidate. It’s what we did with Wilder, why wouldn’t the Prince do it again?

I think Abdullah has already spent the parachute payments. We are in deep shit, and will be going to league 1 if Abdullah doesn't find an extremely good manager. Talk of Heckingbottom, Tindall, Appleton and Gary bloody Monk! All failures! He hasn't got a clue about football!
The talk of those managers is not from thevpeice thou. We spent part of this season's parachute money of Berge.

Sensibly, it appears( according to some of the media) that the squad will get a 50% pay reduction when relegated.

I think financially the club is OK but as the Prince hasnt got any money to out in, the clubs will have to be self sustaining so certain players will have to be sold

And dont forget Wilder has been handsomely rewarded for the job he has done with improved contracts ( and mo doubt bonuses)...and rightly so.

I just hope the club is financially stable

Nobody has to worry about Chris Wilder’s finances - but that wasn’t the point.

The initial suggestion was that the Prince puts his hands in his pockets when required - he doesn’t. He reinvests money retuned from the clubs fortunes - which have been entirely generated by Wilder.

Now we’re out of the premier league, if things proceed to form, we can expect the money to dry up quickly, and player sales to follow (which sounds like the crux of the matter).

I don’t blame the Prince for that, he’s not a wealthy man. But let’s not give credit where it isn’t deserved, either.

He doesn’t, you’re right. The next manager will be a great indicator of where we’re heading.

My gut feeling is a cheap (available) puppet. But I’m feeling raw right now, and I’ll be delighted to be proved wrong.

Perversely, I’m hoping for a poor end to the season to remove any inkling they have to do it completely on the cheap, and extend the contracts of those already here.

Why is it the board that won’t offer competing wages?
Wilder is the one that has always come out and said other clubs wages are silly and he won’t put the long term health of the club at risk. Never heard him say the board won’t let him pay the wages

Was it prince's fault?? He's backed wilder again and again prince was right we needed a d,o,f Chris was too stubborn to acknowledge this thinking he was higher than what was in the clubs best interests, don't be fooled I'm not
What utter nonsense....can you hand on heart say Wilder didn’t act in the clubs best interests? If the Prince won’t pay PL wages you must expect the recruitment to fail. I’ve posted on another thread the publicly stated promises consistently broken by the Prince...so don’t be fooled I’m not.

I'm hearing prem wages again yarn, a director of football would help scout foreign markets, remember sander berge how much is that top talent on per week? Sloppy recruitment by wilder paying over inflated prices at home and too stubborn to want help finding better, and wilders value for money abroad even with our shite wages as I keep hearing. But if you want to keep blaming the board that's fine, I'm sure it's nothing to do with wilder and is no plan b shite transfer dealings that's brought us to this place, looks like we're all same well most of us blades including our very own Chris in blaming the board.

At the time robinson would have been a fringe/squad, despite a low fee breaking the wage structure for this role (50k plus) would have been lunacy

Robinson would have been behind Enda this season? 👀

People are saying why didn’t he spend money on high wage, low fee players rather than low wage, high fee. He tried for Robinson and Wilson on the former approach and didn’t get the support on wages to do so.
