Are we safe?

Leicester scraping a win at pigs tells you all you need to know- they’re the only side that are underperforming more than us. Thank fuck for Bamford btw. What a shambles this season has been.

Leicester didn’t win…

Not even WE could phuck this up, could we.....?
Some of us on here of the ages late 60’s and beyond have seen us phuck it up from seemingly impossible positions before, two or three times. Hence my bookmarking posts like that of Matt Bianco saying it’s impossible. Said at the start that this season smells of relegation. We will have succeeded if we avoid it.

I remember all the "we are SAFE" posts back in the old forum in the PL under Warnock, shortly before we played Villa.

We'll not go down this season but I can completely understand folk being wary.

I still cant get over us losing 20 games in 41 fixtures so far this season. Simply unacceptable. Pathetic even.
Anyone know if this is our worst number of losses in our history in a non relegation season??? We can’t have had many like this with so few draws..:.

We've had 3 previous seasons where we've lost 20+ and not been relegated.

We lost 21 from 42 in Division 1 in 1929-30 and finished 3rd bottom, when only 2 went down.

Ditto in 1953-54..

We also lost 20 (from 46) in Division 3 in 1982-3, but we won 19 and finished 11th.

We could lose every remaining game and the chances of going down are slim to none.

It won't help the mood one bit though if that's what happens.

Read on X this morning that some still see Wilder as performing a 'miracle' to keep us up.

Getting us to the play offs would have been in that ball park but staying up?

We should be alright, unless there's a freak set of circumstances.

Leicester still have to play Pompey so either way, points are getting dropped in and around the relegation places.

If we can squeak a win somewhere, it'll make things absolutely sure but the teams down the bottom are running out of games.

If they were American those would have been the same people saying that Trump is doing a good job in Iran. Realistically Wilder's side has dropped 30 points from winning positions based on his management style last season where he was the messiah because he got us 92 points (finishing on 90) we should be looking at the dropped points in a different light, playoffs shouldn't haven't been seen as unachievable and realistically autos should have been up for grabs and before anyone says anything about that. Ipswich were 20th at the end of August and 13th at the end of September fast forward to now and they are 2nd with 2 games in hand over 3rd.

If we win on Saturday, Leicester and Oxford lose then we are mathematically safe.

Having seen Hull last night go toe to toe with the Champions elect and look the better side for much of the game can you really see us beating them with our current form?

I may well be wrong but rather than go all out to capture some pride back and quieten the Ra Ra Ra's up, I'm expecting us to roll over and have our tummies tickled by our exes on Saturday.
