Going back to the original post, my main issue with our signings is that the majority, if not all, have been the sort of gamble you take when you already have an established squad for the level you are at. Unfortunately, we didn't have this as a base so we are reliant on the gambles paying off.
Before the deadline, we really need established proven quality at this level. The Brentford result was a very good one, but they were undoubtedly a technically superior team to us. I just fear that our players can only play above their natural level for so long and they will begin to tire earlier and earlier in games.
I don't doubt that people will knock this post as being unduly negative, but these are genuine concerns and playing at 100% every game is not sustainable, but it is what we would have to do with the current squad.
