Given the consensus that a number of players are running on fumes, I’d be inclined for those in that category especially those we are keeping to send them off resting.

The likes of Baldock, Stevens (who may drop down to back up but will likely be retained), Basham, O’Connell and Fleck, I’d send them off a week early, probably give Brooks another week of recovery too.

The rest who maybe need games or have been in and out can make up a team with some of those playing for their futures.

Also gives a chance for a few potential goodbye appearances.

I’d be looking at:

Blackman
Leonard Stearman Wright
Freeman Lundstram Evans Lafferty
Duffy
Sharp Clarke

Subs: Moore, Heneghan, Slater, Carruthers, Holmes, Donaldson, Evans

That team could get hammered. Looks pretty lightweight.

I'd like O'Connell to play: be nice to have an ever present player.

That team would get hammered. The players need to pull their fingers out and reward the fans who travel. Some recent performances have been unacceptable.

I'd go for:

Eastwood
Heneghan Stearman Semple
Freeman Leonard Slater Lafferty
Holmes
Smith Evans

I see absolutely no point in playing the n ormal team given how shattered they look. Give the kids a game. Doesn't matter, gives them a chance and a taste of first team football. Play Holmes, Leonard, Evans to see how they do. Lafferty seems to have quietly accepted his lot and put in a shift on the occasions he's been called upon, so give him a game.

If bans for 15 bookings carry over to next season, I'd leave Fleck out

How is it lightweight?

The defence is about 6’2” on average. Leonard did a good job at RCB when picked there and Wright and Stearman have been regular first teamers.

Lundstram and Evans are always in the matchday squad. Fleck is only 5’6” so how is the midfield more lightweight? Many have campaigned for Lafferty to give Stevens a breather.

The forwards are the same as today.

No issue of you don’t agree my sentiment of accepting this season is done and best prep for next year is to get the rest in early, but can you expand on the lightweight comment?

It's a free hit now. Doesn't really matter what the result is tbh so i hope we change things in both formation (4-4-2) and team (chuck a few youngsters in mixed with a bit of experience I.e. Sharp)

Don't want us to put out too much of a weak, experimental or sentimental team. We deserve to finish higher than 11th and I don't want to go down there and see another pathetic away defeat.

Leonard and Holmes might as well play. No one else in their positions has done enough recently, Evans and Lundstram especially.

No striker other than Clarke deserves to play.

Absolutely, give our young lads a day to remember and something to whet the appetite for next season.

I think we'd probably need a bit more experience in there to do that, so bring in Moore, Sharp, Fleck, but i'd happily see all of those young lads playing a part in the game plus the fringe players.

Would love to see that but can’t see it happening

We put out the best team available and attempt to win the game.
We shouldn't be any more tired than other teams - they've all played the same number of games. As Deano says above, some of the players owe the fans one last decent performance. I'd like to see us finish higher than 11th.

I take it you're not going/aren't paying all that money to go and see us play? :D

And why do you think Semple Slater and Smith not give you value for money ?

I pay my money for every away game and would not have an issue at all.

My only player on that list would be Evans up top. Been awful for every 1st team and 23s game I have seen him this season.

Hey each to their own.
If I saw that line up on Twitter I think I'd stay in the pub to be honest. I'm all for bringing youth through but Evans, Lafferty, Holmes (probably the guy Wilder meant when he said players weren't pushing hard enough to get in the first team)nah!

That was my point pal. You have named the very ones I think also.

Evans is experienced, he's done his time.....

I only put Holmes and Evans in as they're both on contracts and I assume it would be beneficial to see if they can do anything, whether we're trying to keep them or not. I'm not sure we'll be able to get shut if them anyway.

I take your point about experience though. Don't want to get hammered. I think Eastwood deserves a chance. We know what Moore can't do!;)

If Eastwood plays as well as his previous first team appearances that will do for me

I am doing, and while maybe not quite that extreme, I'd certainly like to see Slater, Eastwood and Semple play, with nothing on the line I'd rather get more information about how some of the fringe players do. Would go with Eastwood - Lafferty, O'Connell, Semple, Basham, Freeman - Lundstram, Slater, Holmes - Brooks, Sharp

Freeman, Holmes, Leonard and Brooks should start. I'd add Lafferty too but Stevens seems to be undroppable. Heneghan and Slater off the bench.
