I have a passing acquaintance called Terry, who is well known around our area for his extremely friendly Labrador, his frequenting of the local pub and his previous employment as a postman.
For many years, we've said hello as we pass on our travels and as a lapsed Blade, he often grills me on how the team are doing whilst regaling me about Blades teams of the past.
The other day he came up to me and said he'd been thinking. In the distance of his memory, he said, he could vividly remember a photo from an edition of the Express... showing Doc Pace scoring past the Chelsea defence.
With the help of the Bible, he's discovered that the match was on the 20th January 1962... the Blades beating Chelsea 3-1 with goals from Hartle, Pace and Russell.
Just wondered if any older Blades could remember the match and if anyone had any idea where I could get a decent-ish copy of the picture. I've emailed the Daily Express hoping they come through for me!
