i don't want this to descend into a 'we should have got 100 million quid for him' thread...

I just wanted to express how composed he his at premier league level and how quickly he's adapted to the pace.

You could tell he was good last year from the glimpses and cameos but he's quickly gone from strength to strength, let's enjoy the sell on from the inevitable 70/80 million fee next time...

Fair play to the lad

That might be the best Brooks message I've seen

We gave him away. Fuck the " no one else offered money" shit.
Southampton sell tallent for proper money. Thank fuck Wilder has hopefully stopped the haemorrhage of top talent for fucking btutons
Wilder sold him?

The Lad is fantastic ,his vision and stance is outstanding he's like a though bread racing horse , scored one and one assist before he went off , he's already had a pay rise from Bournemouth to fend off bids !
Him and Leon were great together , and now there both gone :(
On wards and upwards though , the era of Hogan and Madine begins . Were fooked !

Don't worry mate. When the big dogs come calling.
Walker
Maguire
Brooks.

All sold for for fucking buttons.

Worth what now?

Expect ﹰBrooks and ﹰMaguire to go for around 100 million in total this summer.

Yet some Top top Blades fans were not bothered about him going in fact some even said he’d not take to the Premiership for a years if at all.

Another 50/60mil player sold for nothing.

In Uniteds financial position theyre always sadly going to be looking to move young talent on for a profit. Some they get wrong, some they get right.
The sell on clause is their insurance, when they get it wrong I suppose :(

With all due respect to some of the posters above
Was it SUFC , or Sir Chris that got Brooks to change his agent ,
At that point Our manager, had the cop on to see what was going to happen , and managed the situation ,
Our club read the situation and got him to sign a longer contract , meaning in the event of a club sniffing around , they’d have to pay a bigger fee
Or maybe we shouldn’t have got Egan or Ollie , on permanent deals , or that guy from Cardiff and Everton or Aston Villa on loan and should be flopping around mid table .
Listen lads , we could end up like the “pigs” and never sell anybody , it’s not American football
When Brooks played for us he had potential, how many young players, had potential and fell by the wayside , I’ll be honest for every pig and weeds game , there was a Millwall away game
I wish nothing but good luck for the lad and hope he fulfills his potential

Thought we've got a decent sell on clause? And his sale, at the time, has enabled us to strengthen overall, quite probably..I hope it is/was part of a plan... Didn't want him to go, he's a very special player. Whether you accept that was inevitable or not, we've still got something to gain from how well he's doing now....It's rubbish having to think like this, I know..UTB

The Brooks money could fund this club for 2 years. We've already strengthened with one lot, we could strengthen again in the summer with his sell on clause.

The sale of Brooks alone could get this club promoted.

GLTTL

If he'd have stayed with us this season he would have been far from a guaranteed starter. He's joined possibly the best team for the way he likes to play. GLTTL

Sorry, what ???
He'd have ripped the division a new arsehole
Everybody is judging him based on him getting glandular fever and missing most of the season

He'd have crucified this division single handedly and until we stop selling we will never achieve anything

The sad thing is, if we were in the Premier League we'd still lose our players to fucking Bournemouth

He won't be the last talent to be sold, it's just how we've always been. Still doesn't feel any easier after supporting em for nearly 50 years.

Some still blame the selling of Mick Jones for our lack of success over the last forty odd years. Maybe they're right who knows.

And there the fucking rub John.

Until our fans say enough is enough they'll always give our stars away.

We really did give this lad away didn't we.

It’s all relative.

If Bournmouth sell him for 40 million, then are they giving him away?
If Man Utd then sold him in a few years fior 150 million then are they giving him away?

There’s no true value any player, it all depends on the circumstances

At present it looks like the sale of Brooks could be one of the main reasons we could gain promotion.
His loss hadn’t weakened us because he hardly played but the money has ensured we’ve bought Norwood and Egan.

So if we gain promotion then the sale of Brooks will have gained us 150 million.
Logically the sale of Brooks for 12 million could be the best bit of business the club has done leading us into a new era.

Now you should know football management doesn’t work like that,

Scott Hogan brilliant at Brentford (best striker in the Championship) goes to Villa and he’s crap or injured ....
Makes you wonder why Wilder is signing him?

Brooks is a winger at Bournmouth, we don’t use the type of player in Wilders extremely effective system.
No player is bigger/ better than the team, unless you’re called Diego Maradona.
We’d have needed to find a role for Brooks in our team and that would have been tricky.
We tried him in the Duffy role but he’s not as good as Duffy in that role.
Brooks would have been impact sub when the game is stretched with more space for him to use his pace.
