We were discussing this tonight. Promotion to the PL would inevitably mean that we would be in a league where we'd finish mid table at best, and probably be in a relegation scrap. Prices would rocket. We'd gain plastic fans from across the world. Merger talks would re-ignite. McCabe would be tempted to cash in. Punters would talk about us in cliched terms. We'd have to pay 60 quid to go to places like the Emirates.

Wonder if we could win this league then decline the promotion.

I always thought Warnock was a bit like the rabbit in the headlights when he got to the PL. "We're just enjoying every minute of being here"
I think CW is more than capable of winning the Championship, but how would he fare in the PL? Better than Warnock certainly, but to be really successful in the PL? He wouldn't want to be a Swansea or a Palace. He'd want to win. But even if he managed to achieve "a Leicester", what would be the longer term future?
I'm not sure CW's values would deliver success in the PL.
But I do love every bit of what he's doing!!

The only thing that concerns me is...where will the club send the players on holiday if we achieve the undreamable and go up this year? They went to Vegas for winning L1...where do they go if we go up this year? The Moon? Mars!?

Promotion definitely, that's our only chance of keeping Brooks and maybe even Wilder. With CW in charge and the clout you'd hope he'd have after two successive promotions, I'd have confidence of us keeping as a proper club with ambition to improve, develop our own players, not whore out the stadium name and only buy so many unknown players called Silva or Dembele.

Wilder, pretty regularly, refers to Bournemouth as 'The Way'. You'd have to assume, that if the unthinkable happens, and we get promoted quickly, then principles and integrity will continue to be a huge part of the clubs identity.

Maybe a bit premature but I'd take a yo-yo between PL and Championship, as long as we get to score 100 goals and get 100 points in all promotion seasons. If not it's not worth it.

Didn't they say this about the Championship? I'll be digging out my 1998/99 "Rough Guide to European Football" to give you all an insight into the teams in the Champions League


I'm not bothered about the Premier League to be honest, i really don't like it. But i'd take a season there, win it, get into the Champions League, European Tour, Win that too, then come back down and enjoy the Championship, then win the FA Cup and League Cup.

I think that would be a perfect send off for Billy Sharp and Leon Clarke.
