Basham touches Lacazzettes foot, he throws himself in the air. Pen

Slightest touch or no touch Arsenal players dive free kick.

No crowd, no atmosphere.

Listening to Steve McManaman who is so biased to the big club rather than little old Sheffield!

Rules changed to 5 subs instantly favours the big clubs.

Lundstram injured further destroys the season.

I know it's a rant, but since the restart I have fallen out of love with a game I have watched for 45 years.

Wilder has done an amazing job, it's just sad to see the season end like this.

I haven't enjoyed any of our games (and most of the others I have watched) since the restart, yes the results probably are a big part of that - in regards to our matches but the amount of stoppages in a game now make it unbearable. Drinks breaks & 5 subs max stop any momentum you may have or building towards, VAR is a joke as are majority of ref's willing to give free kicks for the slightest touches.

Agree with all the above points, it feels like everything goes against us, commentators, fouls, VAR Decisions, what happened to the seven minutes injury time, one of the Arsenal players goes does in injury time for a minute or two but that's never added on...

As already said, I've taken to not watching. Really pissed off tbh, I live miles away so rarely get to see live games and I don't have sky etc so this was a great opportunity for me to watch a good amount of blades football.

Yes, I hate it.
So many players' first thought in is "what can I do to get a free-kick?"
A lot of the time they're not even looking to get the ball under control.

Not starting to hate football, started hating it after the Spurs game. I just don't bother to cheer goals anymore. What's the point when they're mostly ruled out by VAR. Sat in stony silence all three times we had it in the net today. Enjoyment has gone out of the game. I won't be wasting any of my money on a season ticket next year, even if I could get one. Nothing against the Blades but I've just no love for the game anymore.

And yet if we could go and see all of the above in person and part with our hard earned cash to do so it would somehow seem more bearable and worthwhile. As it is, it just feels like some kind of purgatory. Might just go and shout some expletives on my garden for 20 minutes to get it out of my system.

When you reach the Cup quarter final, all you hope for is a home draw and the advantage that would give you.
Of course, we had that taken away, as well as any momentum we had.
No pressure on referee, who could carry on giving fouls every time a yellow shirt fell over.
Would he have given that penalty with a full ground looking on?

Tierney couldn't wait to give the penalty
Arsenal were struggling go create a chance so he stepped in to hand them a chance.
Tv said he had a nibble so it was a pen but 2 minutes later arsenal player does exactly the same on half way and he says it was accidental
We have 27 years of prem Big 6 bias to fight against

What's the answer though? How about something revolutionary like no penalties?

Forget the exact numbers. But, the 14 have to let the 6 get away with it. The 14 have to vote for new regulations which the 6 want. The game is more valuable if the 6 are successful. More money flows to the 14 if the 6 are successful. The game has to be played the way the OP describes. Because that's what sells TV Subscriptions abroad. And that's what keeps Sheffield United in business. The money the 6 generate keeps Sheffield United going. We made this...... If you want integrity & fairness, don't watch WWE or the PL. If you want to watch The Big Show, stay tuned.

Agreed. Before the lockdown there was a real possibility of getting into Europe. Top 10 now would be an awesome first season 👍

This restart is really starting to piss me off.

There may or may not be a need for an inquisition into how the creativity and tempo has fallen off, but the fact that this side had been settled into a stable XI for so long, cannot be underestimated.

1. Villa - slow after the restart, far from in our stride, but so we're many teams. Should have won 1-0.

2. Newcastle - Egan red card and the game plan goes to shit. This, couple with VAR in the previous game and heads drop. Confidence is easy to knock and it can spread like wildfire.

3. Man U - a resurgent side against a patched up XI, low on confidence.

4. Arsenal - now this. Glimpses of promise back, the team trying to play, not at our previous levels but a bit back to where we were, or at least it's a step in the right direction - albeit improving on the first 3 isn't hard.

Maybe an inquisition isn't needed. Maybe the above accounts for it.

What I am starting to hate though is how in the first half of the season there appeared to be something most weeks that demonstrated our character and resilience, as with Billy's late equaliser at Bournemouth, for example.

Now, it feels as though there's something to go against us each week, I'm starting to watch for the sucker punch: Enda's miskick, VAR not reacting, Egan's pathetic first booking, switching off for the Arsenal second.

Still, all I cared about most from today was a glimmer of us trying to play, and a bit of character. I got a bit of the former and some of the latter in McGoldrick's equaliser. It has to turn around soon, maybe there's hope.

Remembering how biased the Premier League is again and VAR has been a terrible introduction in terms of fan experience but I've enjoyed this last season and a half more than any other. Obviously it's completely shit now with no fans and it doesn't feel like a real game but that can't be helped.

Its just one of those spells now where everything is going against us. Absolutely delighted that we haven't turned into complete shit overnight like many thought
