Amazing how lazy journos can be. Has he ever seen us play? For a neutral we must be one of the most exciting teams to watch. And our football is very sophisticated.

Ah the "not pretty to watch" trope that immediately makes the person saying it look like he knows nothing about football.

It's grudging praise really. Though to be described as having the indestructibility of a cockroach is quite high on the 'grudging' scale.

Lazy Journos from down them parts are always eclipsed by proper football Journos as is the case with the excellent Benjamin Bloom. He does know what he's talking about unlike this armchair fanatical 'reporter'

I'd enjoy sitting and discussing football over a pint with him, like anybody else sitting behind a keyboard as opposed to talking face to face is a different ball game, a bit like some on here!

Is it me, or is that article actually more praising of us and Wilder than disparaging?

Agree, but it’s all back handed begrudging praise.

It’s basically saying to Norwich, “you might think only a draw at home to Sheff Utd is a poor result with 2 points dropped
But actually they’re a tougher side than people think, so don’t be too down hearted”.

"and they could also have dropped their heads when Teemu Pukki produced a goal out of nothing against the run of play in the second half, but Wilder’s team hung in there and thoroughly deserved their point."

A bit contradictory don't you think? Seems like we were both on top and and hanging on, all in the same sentence.

Totally agree, makes me smile that this Ipswich fan called Benjamin Bloom seems to know more about our team, tactics and the qualities of our individual players more than your average United fan. His knowledge always impresses me.

They just adopt a stereotype that, it has to be said, we fashioned for ourselves over many, many years. One which many in S2, to our eternal shame, would love to return.

The phrase “hung in there” really means “kept plugging away”.

Goals can change games, their 2nd could have given them a boost, it could have made our players drop their heads
But we continued hanging in there playing the same style and intensity plugging away for a goal, which was deserved when it came.

For my sins I like to take a look around other club’s forums from time to time, even those who we aren’t playing/played or not even in the Championship if we’ve been on the box and we get almost universal praise for the way we play and how good it is to watch.

There is still the odd fan who thinks that Wilder is obviously Warnock Mk2 simply because we’re Sheffield United and we were the ‘battling Blades’ for so long under him that it’s stuck, but for a so called professional journalist to either know so little about us or to simply lie for effect is frankly pathetic.

Same, always interesting to see what the fans think.

I had a good laugh looking at Spurs forum when they got knocked out of both cups within 4 days.
