Anybody trapped in the Leppings Lane bottleneck?

The sit in silence at Wembley jibe sounds like a very pork inspired quote. Watched them a few times at Wembley on TV and the only time they were above average was against Hartlepool ( okay it was The Millenium ) and Hull, who both had piss poor support just like Pigs did in the replay against Arsenal.( Lowest support for a Cup Final or Replay ).
Maybe you should get copies of the Blades at Wembley against Pigs, Hull and Palace and then don't talk such crap.

Hey up Pigman. If you want to talk pork inspired then you should look at yourself, because 90% of your posts are about them. They completely consume you. (For anyone who hasn't noticed yet, have a look at his profile and you'll see I'm right).

Pigs and Palace at old Wembley were a long time ago, our support and football has changed since then. The last 3 times at Wembley we didn't have any significant group stood up, our support's been scattered and half arsed. I feel the likes of Wednesday and especially Leeds are likely to naturally avoid this problem. Even our no pressure underdogs game against Hull is way over rated by many due to that spontaneous outpouring of applause after Hull's 5th goal.

Iam saying he hasn’t got it all right, the academy and those 2 corners are great but i hate the office blocks, hotel was a complete failure and building flats is a fucking awful idea. Scarborough property should be not on the clubs land, hes made good decisions but also some awful ones too. He’ll probably sell the flats off after a while as per usual. Then we are stuck with them. His business decisions are very strange to me !

But without the hotel where would people go to have their lunchtime affairs?

What a dump porker. How can I be a Pigman if I fuckin don't drool over them and their fans. Just can't stand them and anybody who spouts bullshit to build them up and put the Blades down. At least the Pigs enjoy your posts.

Don't tag him, but who was the poster on here who everyone just used to accuse of being a Pig, no matter what the subject?

I wanna know as well, how did one of the pigs fans who was giving it large, get from their stand to the right of us into the middle of our lower tier before being escorted out by the stewards?!

I worked in Public Service all my career. I'm of the unpopular opinion that we get the politicians, the public service & the Police we deserve. Lots of public services are vilified now. No, or poor, wage increases for years. Decried as being for those who can't get a proper job. Blame culture & blame the public service as soon as anything goes wrong. Litigate - sue the NHS - and the NHS needs more central money from taxation to pay that compensation - we're actually suing ourselves. I feel Public Service careers such as the Police Force have been devalued - by us, I'm not blaming anyone else. Who would want to be a Copper or a Teacher or a Nurse in today's society? We get what we vote for & pay for & hence (my view) what we deserve.

Ask most Owls fans and they will say exactly the opposite about who has more scum. They can recite chapter and verse of the times they have been attacked , had flares thrown at them. The problem is that the police trapped the Blades fans the other night, maybe if they'd let them go and stepped aside there would have been a very bloody outcome. Ever since the days of the SRA and BBC, all Blades fans have been tarred with the same brush. The sit in silence at Wembley jibe sounds like a very pork inspired quote. What was the SRA?

Good post and agree to most of it. On Monday night SYP's late change of plan and the dangerous decision to let out both sets of fans from Leppings Lane was nothing to do with money...it was incompetence from the high command. They're so naive they probably thought because the match was a draw that both sets of fans would all shake hands outside and go for a pint together.

Overworked too. Which leads to stress, which leads to mistakes and poor decision making.

And when I here the words third party provider I feel physically sick. Outsourcing is the eighth deadly sin.

And, over decades, we have decided, indeed chosen, to devalue & denigrate our Public Services, making it all the more likely that incompetent people will reach senior positions & make incompetent decisions.

...and our trust in them is reduced further when we see recent items in the media. For example - SYP were recently forced to pay compensation for roughing up and wrongfully arresting peaceful tree protesters. Also our own Sheffield City Council caught lying to people and forced by the Ombudsman to apologise to them. It makes them appear untrustworthy and incompetent. These are people on salaries in excess of £100,000. Things need to improve!

I make a living out of companies that outsource. I am the tick bird on the Rhino’s arse.

I once was the Rhino.

They merge to cut costs - they call it “streamlining” but streamlined things are normally smoother and faster and more efficient. Streamlining in industry is usually the opposite.

Problem is, they don’t understand their own business and how it works. So they make all these cuts then find out it isn’t working properly because they’ve disposed of some of the parts that made it function. So then they hire in folk like me that they disposed of in the first place, to help fix it. And it costs them more!

I’m not complaining. But I find it very short-sighted on their part. And I do sometimes miss being the Rhino.

I feel your frustration Cerberus Blade - trust me, I was a consultant...

I was recruited into Public Service in 1981. I was a mathematician, an analyst, with specialist academic skills. They wanted people with my specialist skills to do specific things. I was a doer. By the time we binned each other off in 2010, nearly all the doing was outsourced. I was specifying, letting & managing contracts for third party companies to do the specialist stuff I'd been recruited to do. I was a great doer. But a shit contract manager. We parted on those terms. As per usual, a Government Minister was wheeled into Parliament to give the standard "rejoice, we've managed to cut another 200 of the blood sucking leeches from the Civil Service" statement.
I'm not making an argument for or against outsourcing. But, you need people who are outsourcing specialists - not mathematicians like I was. The taxpayer was getting incredibly poor value from me.
