Should at least read this from today's program. I'm not saying everything will be fine after his op, but at least we know that he's doing it for the club right now and knows he's not 100%. For the record I though that he got better as the game wore on, pity he couldn't get on the end of his own crosses.

I thought he did Ok today but he's not going to really have a chance at this level till he's sorted that problem out

I think its clear for most people that he isn't fully fit. A shame he can't have that operation at the moment.

The commitment is there from Ched and he does show glimpses of quality like his cheeky back heel to Brooks (I think it was) today. Plus some quality balls into the box that you wish Billy or someone could have been on the end of.

Too late, he's finished in the eyes of many. Like I said on other threads, the lad is putting himself on the line for the club.

Pity one of our other forwards couldn't play through the pain barrier today, that's all we were missing, one genuine forward. But better that they miss today than next week I suppose. Ched wasn't great but good to see him last the full 90.

We have no idea whether the Ched "gamble" will come off but we have to give him the opportunity to be 100% fit. Fair play to him for his honesty and putting the team first right now. I hope he and ultimately united get the rewards for it later in the season

He should not have started then, would have been better playing Brooks and Samir up top as false number 9s a bit like the Wembley formation with Baxter and Scougall

If we're binning Brayford off because he is of no use to the side then surely Ched is in the same bracket?
He offers nothing to us at the moment, he's only in because because of injuries and o can't see he's done himself any favours with today's display. New striker in the JTW please Chris and hope we don't have to rely on Evans too much. Harsh, but honest IMO.

They clearly aren't in the same bracket though pay wise which is why the Beard went

He's not playing for free is he?? He's getting paid a decent wage, so he's hardly putting himself on the line. He's doing the job he's getting paid for. The article in the program is just to take some pressure off of him.

He isn't anywhere good enough for a top 6 team in the championship. He is finished at this level. He wasn't good enough in league 1 last season. I don't have anything against the effort he's putting in. He's just not good enough - just like Hussey, Bradford, Wallace, Long etc. all players we've offloaded.

We took a gamble on him but it's clearly not going to work.

We should get rid in January, get his wages off the books and use them for a better player. Nothing personal, just good business and squad reshaping to make us a better team.

It's bad enough him playing 50% fit. But playing upfront on his own 50% fit is never going to work

Obviously you can't solely blame Chedwyn today but he was clearly the weak link. We were the better side and with a competent striker in the team I dare say we'd have got something. With two we'd have won.

At the moment he's looking like a poor poor signing and no one can deny that.

Echos of coutts in this. I'm listening to Wilders interview as I write this and I am 100% with Wilder on Ched

I thought Ched did well to say he's not 100%. He made several runs in the second half but didn't get the pass. When he did he put two first class crosses for someone to get on the end of. Looks like some have found this seasons scapegoat. ;)

I thought he did ok. He's getting a little bit fitter and sharper each time. He was actually responsible for some of our best balls into the box in the second half as he had to go looking for the ball himself. He made some decent runs and put the ball into some really good areas but no one got on the end of them.

He should have done better with his half chance first half as a better first touch might have made it easier to score. It's clear that he's still trying to get back up to speed. Years out followed by an injury was always going to make it take longer.

Different to coutts given what ched has been through. Coutts didn't spend 2 years during his developing years sat in a cell.

Also, it's not just cheds fitness - look at his movement, decision making in possession, anticipation. He's just not good enough for the championship. He wasn't even that good when he was in this league the last time.

Ni one is blaming him for the defeat, but fans are willing to point out that his lack of ability made a difference to the result.

His fanboys will make excuse after excuse for him. At the moment it's the op. Then when he's back they say 'he's still finding fitness'. Then when he isn't good after that, they'll say 'he needs a pre-season' and the cycle will continue for three years.

We took a gamble, it's not going o work. Stop making excuses on his behalf. No other player is afforded anything like the leeway that Evans gets and it's ridiculous.

The guy hasn't scored a goal and is never going to be a starter in the championship. Yes, there extenuating circumstances, but that isn't Sheffield United's problem. We need players that are good enough for this division, and he isn't. Nor will he ever be.

No one is saying it's Evans' fault that we lost today, but to still believe he's going to become a regular goal scorer at this level is delusional and,on the evidence so far, is nonsensical.

We tried, it hasn't worked. stop making excuses for him and just accept it.

I'll deny it.

I give you Coutts.

Can't agree.

He offered to play when he could easily have said no.
He's postponed an operation which will benefit him as a player for the benefit of the club

We need two strikers in the JTW regardless, but give him until the end of the season and see where he is.

I would never have signed him, but I'm not in charge. Now he's our player, he needs to be given a chance.

Can't remember these posts last week when he came on at Sunderland when he did a good job and nearly scored, whilst not being fit.

We have five strikers aside from Evans, he was never signed to be the main man. We had huge bad luck with injuries this past week meaning he's had to play as a lone striker. If that was a youngster who'd come through the ranks, I think some would be a little more understanding and reasoned in their assement of today's performance.

Yes they would, but he's not. So it's hard to see your point? Ofcourse we would see his performance differently if he was 18.
