So will this kid be the next Mason Greenwood? Marcus Rashford? Josh Maja?? James Wilson?? Joe Ironside?????

Place your bets.

Hopefully he gets a few minutes against Derby and Preston

Look.forward to seeing him sign for man city on his 16 th birthday

I feel this is a slightly unnecessary piece at this stage. The lad is 16, he’s had a handful of minutes in a friendly owing to the shortages in the squad, and it probably doesn’t help his cause to be raising expectations of his potential to break into the first team. Coupled with that is some quotes from Wadsworth suggest he was viewing progress from afar rather than having a particular insight into his development, and I’m not sure it really adds anything. He’s scored goals at youth level, and is pacy, and is doing well at the levels he’s been tested at. Anyone reading the excellent info from the Academy watchers on here already know this...

Thinks it’s part of a wider series on the athletic on each PL teams ‘rising star’.

The issue with our academy atm is it has not quite been the production line it has been historically (with well documented reasons for this due to our time in L1 etc).

So I suppose it was a question of who else do you pick?? Maybe RND?? Not many look likely to break into the squad in the next 18m’s.

Colley was still bullying he way through players through his 20s and still is now. Absolute nutjob.

Is this him in 2014?

Probably struggle for content in their quest not to be like the average rag and after new sign ups.

However, this thread already has over 100 replies which suggests the lad does have an interest from us Blades. It wouldn't surprise me if 'journos' scour forums in search of 'hotspot' talking points to cover.

Just spotted this extract in the second article

"Eventually Karl signed a deal with his boyhood team Sheffield United in 2002 – having even dismissed his agent and taken a pay cut in order to see it through.
The £250,000 transfer carried a heavy burden for the owners, especially given the £75,000 fee that had to be paid upon him making his first appearance.

He never played a senior game."

Good grief, bit of a waste of our money, then?

He once smashed me with an elbow in face on either Warminster or Davy’s pitches about 10 years ago, quality player...bit of a temper!

I'd love to see a couple of Academy players blooded this season even if it's just off the bench for the occasional 10 minutes. I thought the cup game against Burnley would have been a good opportunity for that. I guess we're one more injured striker from this being likely.

Let's not turn him into the future Ravel Morrison - that praise from Ferguson turned into a millstone round his neck.
At this stage Antwoine is a very promising player, but he's got to keep working hard, avoid injuries, avoid Swedish models and stay focused. Too much attention at this age doesn't help with any of that

Would rather see this lad given a chance than waste games sticking with combinations that clearly are not premier league quality.

Nothing to lose everything to gain.
