We were going for Europe at the time, wasn’t the right time to be trying out youngsters
Not trying out but rewarding their efforts. Even those games we could have had 9 on the bench. Great advert for the club, might have given some the 1% extra they need to improve to be considered equal for a chance to play against England internationals or World Cup winners.
We're in a global spotlight, so having the confidence to put U23's on the bench can shout out to the next Messi there is a chance of progress with us.

Academy players couldn't play as they weren't part if the covid testing

Heard lots of good things about Hackford, seemingly as highly valued by our coaching staff as Brooks when he was in the academy.
Any ideas of how long his contract is for?

First trained with the 1st team when he was 15. Since sending Eric Garcia into a nervous breakdown when playing against Man City, Hackford has trained with the 1st team regularly. We will do well to keep him out of city’s clasp after the game he had against them.

Was aware of that BS but any ideas on length of contract ?

I played against a kid at 14 who was with the Pig academy, Denny was his name, pretty much scored 2 or 3 goals a game for the entire season. He was untacklable and stood out like a sore thumb both height, width and pace wise. He played for Sheffield Rangers the previous season along with a good few other very good juniors but he stood out a mile.

By 16 he was a good player but nothing special. By 17 he’d been released by the pigs and I never came across him again.

I also played against Karl Colley, he was at Middlewood u13’s then signed for Rotherham, he was fucking huge at 12 and 13, he was still huge at 18 but as he got caught up size wise by a good few players he was no longer able to bully his way through a game.

A lot can change in a couple of years when you’re a good young prospect.
Colley was still bullying he way through players through his 20s and still is now. Absolute nutjob.

The way I understand it berge yes but ramsdale no as he’s an academy product? Unless he’s old enough to have to be registered at 22
It's under 21 so we didn't have to include Berge (or Retsos) in the 25 last season but as far as I understand it as he and Ramsdale are now outside that age qualification they will have to be included in the 25. I think Ty Smith is also too old but he's away on loan now. By my calculations we've currently got 43 players under 21 that we'll probably register with the PL and could use in league games, that's scholars (16-18 or Y12&Y13) and pros (18-21). Marcus Dewhurst also qualifies but he's also now out on loan. It's likely that a number of the other u21 pros will also go out on loan.

Nearly scored today with his first touch when he came on.

From not being particularly big for his age he now seems as though he has shot up a bit and also filled out, looks a solid lad now.

This lad had a knock around with all the lads up at Norton St goerges last Friday, we used to play every Friday until lockdown now started back up its just all mates having a knock about one of young ens brought him up. I was on holiday so missed him but my mates haven't stopped raving how good he really is and fast really really fast apparently. Obviously he'll not be there tonite!

He is a first year scholar so that lasts two years - but the chances are that he will be offered a pro contact during the two years, which starts once the scholarship ends.

De Giroloma was offered a pro contract during his first year once he had reached his 17th birthday.

Him and Brunt might benefit if we go back to 9 subs. Then again, Wilder will probably just name benches of 7 and 8 again.
