I'd be quite bemused if we spent all that money on Cash when RWB is occupied by one of our most reliably strong players.

It's also not an amount we want to be spending on a cover position if that's the intention, unless we have far more of a budget than we're lead to believe.

The statement seems to be in response to whether or not he's set on moving here. His response is negative and dismissive of us & it seems that that's because he isn't going to be a guaranteed starter.

To be fair even if he knew he was signing for us, he's not going to reveal it in a random interview

Disagree. I think that statement being put out into the public domain is very intentional posturing by the player & his agent.
He wants the world to know he's not dead set on joining us as the media have suggested.

We are dealing with a club in administration. Leeds took two/three weeks to buy the striker from them because of the complicated process.

Calm down, it will all play out and no doubt by this time next week he’ll have signed.
 
This is a great chance for him. His main competitor is no youngster and there are actually two ways for him to get into the team. I'm sure Enda will need a break now and then, and if JOC is unavailable I think Enda could be pushed inside, meaning they could both play.

If he doesn't sign I suggest we keep RND around. With him, Osborn and JR the position shouldn't be a big problem.
 
On all available evidence he looks like he’d be a really good, progressive signing.

But, without wanting to sound crass about it, for me it’s very simple and always comes down to this—fuck him, if he doesn’t want to play for us.

And the same goes for Lundstram.

His statement didn't seem too appreciative of our offer either, more dismissive - whilst wanting to tout himself to anybody else.. it certainly doesn't seem like he's keen.

People, understandably, will interpret it differently - I personally (& if I was Wilder) wouldn't like that message & would be moving on. Doesn't seem like a winners attitude.

We can afford Watkins - we are about to start our 2nd season in the Prem. Whether we will spend that sort of money is another matter. What is clear is that we really do need to add to our firepower for next season.

I dont mean afford as a one off, I mean we aren't willing to meet his valuation and others are.

And yet, all but Watkins have been 'signed' at some point over the last couple of weeks on this board.
