Can't see it being true ,just be his agent who seems to be really enjoying himself this last few months
Maybe its his only client

I'd play hardball with him. Give him a deadline and start looking elsewhere. It's clear he's playing silly buggers (or at least his agent is)

Give him until the end of the week but start making other enquiries in the meantime. Let him go to Fulham's over loads of money relegation fodder.

The CW way or the highway

no player is or will be bigger that this club.

It's not that mental.

If he stayed for 3 seasons and it's under 10 million (all in, transfer fee and wages) for a very good prospect.

Quite cheap all told.

But it's the principle of it and squad harmony/wage structure.

Exactly this.

With the low transfer fee Houso is probably right in fairness. I’ve no idea what Fulham’s wage bill is either but there’s no way we’re offering him close to that when he’d initially be joining as back-up to Enda.

Indeed. I said the same a few posts back and it's why we won't match it. Regardless, the figure itself is not extortionate.

Fulham's wage bill for their relegation season in 2018/19 (the last available season) was £93m. Assuming that covered around 45 players (first team + reserves + youth) it's an average £40k per week. If the squad was 30, it's £60k per week on average.

The season before it was £56m including promotion bonuses. Ours, by comparison, was £41m in 2018/19.

As Balham says Fulhams wage bill will already be a lot higher than ours.

50k a week is madness for a first div left back but hes costing virtually nothing and the likes of Mitrovic, Anguissa and Seri were supposedly on over 60k a week, plus they have Crainey, Knockaert etc

We move on to our next target as if teue hes gonna earn twice as much at Fulham as we will pay him...if not more than twice

Suspect this one is over then if they are offering 50k. We can’t be paying that for someone not guaranteed to start.

only alternative is to offer a major signing bonus to the lad to get him in.

I think someone mentioned he has the same agent as Duffy and Lundstram, which would add another layer of potential complications.

It doesn't seem like this one is going to get done at this stage.
The only alternatives I have seen at the level below are Rico Henry & Jay Dasilva but both would cost more in terms of transfer fee.

Stories like these are always a few days behind. Imagine that’s what’s slowed things down after it seemed like we might get him the other day. I wouldn’t write this off yet though

6th richest owner in English football, in the last year completed 2 share issues (not sure how this works maybe one of the more knowledgeable guys can explain) putting over £800m into the club. I don't think they give a shit.

It’s not sustainable at all. Twitter is full of Fulham fans saying “it’s not that much we pay XX £100k a week”. They should be a bit embarrassed about that, not showing off. Screw ‘em.

Something like this still makes sense:-

£2 million to the Wigan administrators, £5 million up front to Robinson, £20K a week salary - 3 year contract.

Total cost to us £7 million up front and £20K a week.

Robinson gets £5 million up front, £20K a week for 3 years - total £8.1 million - average £51K a week.

Matches Fulham wage, keeps our wage structure - because with his buyout he is effectively a free agent - which means that he effectively owns himself and should expect a chunk of what his club would have got without that clause.

Fair play to him for chasing the money. He’s entitled to.

Shame we couldn’t get this done, he’s literally perfect for us. But if Fulham want to chuck 50k at a left back when they have a competent one already, more fool them.

While it would be lovely to get Tonee in, if we don't get him I wouldn't necessarily see us looking at any other LWBs. Enda owns the spot, but Osborn and Jack Robinson can both cover left back. It would also be interesting to see RND stay around the first team to give Enda some competition. Although I see the wisdom in giving him Championship experience on loan, I'd love to see us blood at least one Academy product this season.

It’s a shame but it is what it is.
None of us would turn down 50k when the other option is 20k

Fair play to Fulham not learning absolutely any lessons from last time though

Wonder what the local journo's were working off when they reported he had his "heart set" on United despite Fulhams interest

Fulham haven't been in any financial mess have they? Thought they were well run?

The only lessons they had to learn last time was to buy better players.
