Hi everyone, from (at the moment, disgustingly hot) Las Vegas, Nevada. Yes, there are a few Blades supporters here. I was delighted to find this forum, as I've been a BU lurker for several years (but never signed up, as it seemed a convoluted process) and was dismayed to discover it gone just as the new season commenced!

I probably won't be much of a poster here - listening to the matches on the 'radio' (MatchLive/Blades Player) while sitting in my pj's drinking my morning coffee isn't quite the same as being there, after all - but I do enjoy the banter of the boards.

. . . and for anyone planning a visit to Vegas - it does seem a popular destination for stag weekends, from what I can tell - the pub of choice for catching the Saturday matches (not our division, of course ) is called the "Crown & Anchor" - the closest you'll find to a 'real' local!

Well, we have a saying here . . . the state of Nevada has always had a single source economy; mining. In the 19th century we mined silver and gold out of ore-rich pockets in the ground. Today, we mine gold and silver out of the pockets of tourists.

Seriously, we love having visitors. Keenzy & the One (are you one person or two?) - are you coming for a stag weekend? The Crown seems to be a 'must do' stop for those - even some who were 'stuck' here this past May . . . these folks were all on holiday. The sad end to the match and the season was a bit of a damper. (sorry for the poor quality - mobile phone camera). Anyone look familiar?

NorthYorks - that was the worst ad campaign ever . . . . . . besides, it's so yesterday! We've moved on to:

'We really wish you were all high rollers with designer jeans and appropriately hot, young arm candy wearing impossibly high heels and not a whole lot else, so we could take publicity photos of you drinking incredibly expensive champers at our ever-so-hip-and-trendy nightclubs where you go just to be seen - but the economy is in the toilet, so we'll settle for your off-the-rack duds, your attractive, but fully clothed SO wearing sensible shoes, and a willingness to buy beer at the bar on the casino floor as long as you promise not to yark it up in the elevator on the way to your cut-rate room . . .'

Not quite as catchy, I grant you - but definitely more truth in advertising.
