Really sad news, I knew Paul from as far back as when he played with the GPO in the old Thursday league and played against him when he played for Arbourthorne E A, who he later went on to help run. Last saw him at Bradford away last season, nice man and great player.
Condolences to his family RIP True Blade.
You've reminded me that Paul played with GPO in Thursday league.
I first encountered him in the Sunday U 21 league when he played for Hackenthorpe. He was around 17/18, I was 14/15 and I marvelled at his skill and pace up front.
He soon moved on to the Arbour (where I joined him in later years) and for a couple of serious injuries would have achieved far more as a player.
An absolute lovely fellah, whom I've seen a fair bit of during the past year at the Lane. Sad to see him obviously suffering, but he made light of his illness.

RIP Paul and condolences to his family and all those that knew him.

It's not been a very nice time the last 6 months for him LSF ,never forget my first day back at work after my dad died,he took me straight to his house and his wife Ann made me some breakfast.

Top family.

R.I.p blade ,best wishes and much love to those close to him. Far too many blades gone in past few years at an early age . Not seen you for a while Bob hope things are good.

Rip Paul thoughts with Fran, Chris, Dom and the rest of the family. A tough few weeks for them losing Dan as well. Two good Blades taken far too early fly safe

RIP Blade, sad news indeed. I remember Arbourthorne EA being a very successful team and loved watching them on occasions, Hoyland town Jaguars were the team I used to watch regular, especially when they played Home games at heeley bank road.

RIP Fellow Blade.
Always sad to lose another blade but non of us are getting any younger.

When my dad’s team were due to play Arbothorne EA it was always a tough game. That was probably partly due to Paul. RIP Blade

Always liked a chat with Paul up at warminster proper football man R.I.P

Passed away this morning.

Reunited with his love of his life wife Ann.View attachment 36188

RIP - fellow Blade. Sincere condolences to his family & friends at this sad & difficult time.
There's been a little run of lost Blades recently on here & they act a reminder for us all that we only get one go round on this mortal coil. Enjoy it, keep supporting the Blades & keep remembering those no longer with us.
