Outgoing? Anel

The manager said if any player leaves they have already identified replacements, so if Anel goes I’d expect a defender coming in. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was Worrall.
Obviously any money left over could be used elsewhere but generally, up front aside I think we’re looking good and could save for January.

£18/20m +add ons, shut up shop then and don't sell anyone else

Is Worrall left footed?

The signings so far have been excellent and I would expect Anel's replacement to be the same. Anel, best of luck to ya. We were always a stepping stone for him, glad we can make a tidy profit and get a long term replacement.

Just reading the Wolves fans describing him as the homophobe.

Take £15m, then use it to sign two perms / two loans: a right back, LCD, experienced Centre Mid and Striker.
Where are you shopping ?
We paid £6m for Trusty and he can't displace Robbo - neither of our Lfooted CBs are good enough really.
We've loaned Souttar & Gilchrist so hopefully they are better quality than what we could afford to buy ... and logically should be starting at CB once we get a RB in.
It would be a clearer picture if we knew whether Wilder is wedded to playing 2 CBs and not 3.

Two perms & two loans out of £15m is do-able. How much did Cooper, Moore and Burrows cost in total?
£6m or there abouts. Could end up around £10m.

FWIW I know it was limited opposition but Souttar was really impressive against Wrexham. It wouldn't surprise me at all if we were being receptive to conversations around Ahmedhodzic and I'd guess at £12-15m being the target.

This will be Wolves' 7th consecutive season in the PL.
I guess they're what we're aspiring to be.

A similar sized club, stadium, history etc. but they hit the jackpot with owners willing to put the required money in and have hired decent managers.

We talk about Sheffield holding back our investment prospects, but has anyone ever been to Wolverhampton?

Anyway, re: Anel. It would be a good move for him.
I don't rate him at PL level and would gladly take the money. We should push for proper money though.
He's a good age and under a long-term contract. £18m would be a good figure and all the usual sell-on and add-ons.

I agree to an extent, but any talk of the Wolves success story needs to involve the Portuguese transfers with an ...ahem... agent who may not be the most truthful sort of fellow? They handed over their recruitment policy to this guy, and he signed a load of Portuguese who were on his books. They've since changed the legislation so this can't be done in the same way going forwards, and I certainly doubt it would happen again in the Championship which is when they picked up most of their talent.

Not saying they haven't made good choices after promotion, but their means of getting there stank.

I always find this a bizarre take, and this isn’t a dig at you…..just an observation in general. McLaren, Rolls Royce, Boeing and many other large engineering companies didn’t have the opinion Sheffield wasn’t a good place to come to when they invested hundreds of millions in to the city and built research facilities and factories here. But according to our Spanish based mate no big companies want to move here 🤷‍♂️

I’d stick with Souttar & Gilchrist as RCBs, and pick up a new RB. Then also sign a first choice LCB; not sold on JLT in a two or Trusty full stop.
Me neither, but if Wilder is sticking to his LCH must be left footed you would think he is because he’s not brought anyone in, like Doyle, when he had the chance.
Souttar and Gilchrist together is pretty inexperienced with little behind it, so if he is happy with a right footed player at LcH then you’d think he’s get an old head like Worrall to bring some leadership and organisation to the defence.

We could resolve this around the £20m plus add ons and a nice sell on fee 😀

Have Wolves got any decent young players they don't want ?
They had a right back but his shoulder didn't work in Sheffield.

That's not a bad shout actually.

If we're confident that Ki-Jana Hoever is a player we like and his injury concern is only short-term, we could look at bringing him in as part of the deal. It would allow Gilchrist to act as CB and RB competition.

Presume his market value is quite low as he's surplus to requirements and will be going into the final year of his deal next Summer.

Wolves are pretty hard-up financially, so some kind of player trade could work for all parties. £13m + Hoever?

He’s the one I’m most comfortable with us losing.

Souttar steps in and Gilchrist becomes his backup.

We then really need a right back.

He had the worst attitude of the lot last season and stood out as particularly poor. Was happy for a fresh start and another chance but if someone has to be sold it’s Anel over Hamer, Blaster and Souza for me.

Wonder if the takeover is as close as is rumoured if we let anyone leave 🤷‍♂️

Doubt it will impact this window in a financial sense. Anel has two years left on his deal, is unlikely to renew and is more suited to a back three. All arguments for moving him on for the right price - particularly if we are committing to four at the back. His lack of form is also a factor
