Sent off for what ?

He was already on a yellow card.

The player kicked the ball at him near the corner flag.
Anel reacted and pushed the Blackpool player squaring up to him.
Handbags.....nothing serious but most referees book both players.

Think it was a deliberate ploy by the Blackpool player, hoping that Anel reacts to the provocation.
I said at the time, there's a chance Anel could be booked....then it would mean he's sent off.

Regards Anel he's easily one of our best players.
The whole team seemed to improve when he came on, he gives us another dimension down the right.

Fleck is training, should he play?
JOC trains, should he play?
He needs to ease back in, just look at Bogle!
Not really rocket science.
Those players have been out for long periods and there’s an argument they should be eased back in . That’s not the case with Anel nor was it with Baldock and he started

Why did he not start?
Only been missing a couple of weeks it’s not like he’s been out months so starts on the bench and then introduce him gradually. Hecky even said as much in his post match interview on RS but then didn’t give a reason why he didn’t start?

He gives us an extra dimension when attacking and we missed him
4 weeks a month 30 days four weekends

I'd have been shocked if he was sent off for that and can't agree with the posters view that he SHOULD have gone

Who are you to decide who should and shouldn't play??
This is just your opinion, it obviously isnt the opinion of everyone, especially the bloke that picks the team!
No offence, but, just because you think it's right, doesnt mean it is.

It sure is an opinion, as is everyone else on here

Isn’t that what this boards for ……opinions?

And no I don’t think I’m right. If you read the op you’ll see I asked the question. I then get everyone else’s opinion and they and you are no more right than I am

Yes it’s Hecky that makes the decisions but there’s nothing wrong with asking the question as to why he didn’t start? Or should we take it that we shouldn’t be asking questions of the Manager?

I thought he got it wrong today. I’m not knocking him as he’s done a good job, but like us all, we all make mistakes and Hecky and 91 other league managers are no different

For the people arguing about rushing Anel back.. are you saying 45 mins vs 26 mins would have a huge difference?

I mean I guess it's possible, but very very unlikely in my opinion.

You didnt ask a question, you said that Anel and Baldock werent seriously injured, but how do you know what their injuries were classed as and how they react to treatment?

That's a question by the way.

Because it seems Hecky can only make substitutions at the 60+ minute mark…even when we’ve been playing utter toss for most of the game. The subs did work, but much too late.

I suggest you read the op again particularly the first line. If that isn’t a question I don’t know what is?

I answered that question originally, only for you to decide it was an answer you didnt like, and then you began this exchange.
You then decided you knew more about Anels injuries than Hecky, and said he shouldve started.
I'm quite aware of how the exchange began and of its progress throughout.

Good for you

And I'll stick with my opinion thanks

It looked like Brewster was going for Anel to me 😂 Obviously not but if you watch the second yellow incident it looks like Brewsters running round tryna get hold of Anel.

Think he knew full well that Anel was likely to explode and wanted to put himself between Anel and their player

Wouldnt expect otherwise.
But now you've realised you've just gone in a circle for no reason and been a bit facetious, due to considering your "opinion" to be "fact", I hope you'll have a great day.

Great team addition, and he uses up all the spare sock material from Oli McBurnie 😂

My opinion is just that thanks

And I'll try to. You too

As mentioned, in a strange way it's probably not a bad thing in the long run that he can't be involved for a week after he has been out injured recently. Hecky can't use him and he can have a week out of the firing line and be fresh for next week.

I heard Conte the other day, talking about playing Moura, and he said something along the lines of you sometimes have to balance the risk of a player coming back from injury against the need to win a game. I agree with that but I’m glad it’s one less thing for Hecky to make a decision over. He’s having to make too many difficult decisions at the moment and the more you have to make, the more chance you’ll get some of them wrong.
