Anel and Souza

Yeah, have to agree.
I thought Souza was MOTM, but Anel excellent too. Both stood out athletically & technically.
Agreed but it was the mindset too. It was especially good to see Souza messing around with OHare in the after match interview.

They've got their Mojo back

Souza was immense and MOTM.

Anel, I’d fallen out with him prior to today. Thought he was pushing for a move and looked mardy but he was class today. Fair fucks. Unbelievable tackle to make up the yards and win the ball firmly and cleanly

Maybe Anel is just better suited to playing alongside a dominating centre half partner, ie Egan in his first season and Soutar today?
Can’t be easy playing next to Trusty, be enough to make anyone have a face on him!

Think they compliment each others game quite well, Anel has a touch of pace about him which Souttar doesn't quite have, whereas Souttar is the dominant no nonsense defender who will bully strikers if he's having a good game.

Anel looked like the old Anel that we admired so much in the promotion season. I also think playing next to the Giant Soutter suited his game, this pair have the shirts to lose now after today's performance.

As for Vini, that's his best performance by a mile in a Blades shirt. Loved his passion for the club in his post match interview too.

Definitely looks promising.

Work hard, show commitment like that and you’ll get the love and admiration. Most of the ground were on their feet. Turning point in the game for me as everyone saw we were not going to lose the game

Anels best performance in well over a year. Out of position but with Soutter next to him seemed to be inspired

Its good to see them both invested, Anel especially (finally!). They both show desire like they are, then they're top end in this league.

I like to think it speaks for the dressing room in general, long may it continue!

Agree but I dont think it's just the Soutter effect.

Think Cooper's presence and calmness when receiving the ball with either foot and passing it out with either foot was a big factor too.
Wes was a good shot stopper but terribly one footed and always capable of a total blunder when receiving the ball or passing it out to his defenders.

Having Cooper and Souter in the team totally takes the pressure off Anel.
Also our playing the ball out from the goalie and calmly passing it around the defence whilst their attacker try to close us down
is a good tactic because it again relieves the pressure.

There was a spell when Watford were having good possession in the 1st half and starting to build a head of steam.
So when Cooper had the ball, we just passed it around the back line for 3 minutes, letting things calm down taking the wind out of Watfords sail.
This is called in-game management and sometimes when under pressure we need to regain control of the game.

We've been behind the curve on this for a while now

You could see it was how hecky wanted to play last pre season but was abandoned due to wes being fucking atrocious with ball at his feet and just causing total panic in his defence

Our chances of staying up. Went from slim to none right there and then and this has been a problem going back years even though wilder had ramsdale and Henderson, two very good keepers at playing out from the back he refused to go down that road instead commanding his keepers to just hoof it upfield or out of play

Well he has to now it's the modern way of playing and if you can't you get mullered even by the lower end teams like the pigs

Hopefully he drills it into. Them now and we incrementally improve at it as if you can't beat the press nowadays you have a very low ceiling
