Sunderland supposedly haven't pursued a return to Mepham,he was great - so a loan -or if we can get a good deal with Bournemouth, would take him.

Tanganga would be sensible, a great season last year, if we can avoid any injuries too.

I'd go Mepham & Tanganga. Maybe Charlie Hughes, but sure there will be some unknown via AI too...

As I’ve said on countless occasions, when a player comes in to a club like ours, gives solid service, and departs for a fee equal to or in excess of what we paid, it’s a resounding success for all concerned.

We simply haven’t been as savvy as this in recent times and so while sad to see AA depart as he’s quality at this level, I have to applaud the club overall.

Totally agree. The first season he had gave us some big expectations but it dwindled from there on.

Hopefully it will allow us to bring in a couple of reliable centre backs and form better partnerships. Anel and Robinson just didn't quite work together, both have looked better with someone else next to them.

Anel is an example of the signing we should be looking to make. For the money we paid, he's been a really good signing. Seems like a nice lad as well, really professional and I wish him all the best in the future. He'll do great in that league. Great with the ball, not so great with physical battles.

Robbo & Bindon are the starting CB’s.

It puts a lot of pressure on Baptiste & Sasnausks, if they get suspended, or injured.

Not counting RND, he’s perpetually injured.

We all thought at the start of the window 2 CB’s were needed. Maybe now it’s 2 & another loan, to allow Baptiste & Sandusky’s to develop with u21…

Selling Anel - whilst for a reported €14 mill is great profit for someone in the last year of contract - it is a concern that we have not been proactive in the window so far.

Evidence is the preseason games, we are more attack-minded & it’s been exciting, but we’ve been too open defensively, which will be a concern. Last season, we were solid defensively for the most…

Robbo and Bindon may be the starting CBs for Saturday, I very much doubt that they'll be the starting CBs at the end of the window.

Good luck Anel. Has been a big part of recent success. I hope he looks back on his time here very fondly despite one miserable season. Under difficult circumstances it was really nice to see how much support he had during his family/national team crisis and I wish him nothing but the best for the future.

It never looked likely he'd sign an extension so well done to the club for securing what they say is a decent price and looking forward to bringing in some much needed replacements in this position.

He also got a lot of bookings pulling people back because he was out of position. He was good, but not one of the players I consider irreplaceable. We do need to buy at least 2 centre backs now because we can’t start the season with Robbo as first choice.

I was fairly happy with the Wilder decision and glad we’ve gone in a new direction, however, Wilder would not have left us short like this before the season starts.

This feels like a very similar summer to Slavs in the championship & Heckys in the prem which didn’t end up in a very good season
