For Blackpool, along with my old hero James Beattie. I never thought I could be so jealous of Blackppol football club.

Beattie having medical and Reid there too just on SSN

Reid would be a very good signing for them. Beattie, on the other hand, is well past it. He got progressively worse at Stoke, has done nothing of note playing against defences of Championship/League 1 standard in Scotland, and is no better than any of Blackpool's current strikers - don't know why Holloway is bothering.

Beattie hasn't really been playing for Rangers. Smith always preferred Kenny Miller.

I think Naismith has played the last few games. So Healy is likely to be cover. But who knows - how anyone can prefer Miller to Beattie is beyond me.

No offense intended, but I can't understand how any Blade could consider Beattie a "hero".

He was undoubtedly a good player, and he did score some very good goals, but he was also a lazy chuff who was anonymous in many games as well as being the biggest money drain this club has ever possessed. I'd estimate that in his 18 months given the loss on transfer and his ridiculous wages plus NI then he cost us the fat end of £5m, or around £65k a week.

I'd pay that just for his free kick against the pigs, to be honest.

You want a prolific scorer, you have to pay top dollar. We did and we did. I'd say he earned his money, to be honest.

So was Tongy's free kick against the pigs worth that too, I only ask in case we sign him late today.

However I think he was worth his money, yes lazy at times, track back once a game to look good. But he could score, and look what's happened since he left scoring wise

Obviously tongue in cheek about paying millions and millions for one goal. Sigh.

Yeah well if it was not for Mr Beattie we would be in League 1 already.

Anyway a few on 606 are pretty well prepared for some time in League 1 an I am reading we will have some potential derby games with Rotherham and Chesterfield to look forward to as well as the porkies.

Fair enough, we all have our opionions on players. For me he was an awesome striker who showed levels of class hos teamates did not posess. The free kick against pigs, the volley against Bristol his unstoppable penalties. As for his "laziness" he scored 20 goals, that will do for me.

it just shows how tides can turn in football.
5 seasons ago would you have seen us where we are now and blackpool where they are now.?
Footballs cruel and unpredictive and you cant help feeling pissed of and jelous because i do,but good luck to Blackpool, they are a team id love to see do well in the prem as theyve stuck 2 fingers up to a lot of teams and made them play football.
In another 5 years time the tide will have turned again, and all blackpool may have to show for it is a stick of rock.
UTB.

That's a perfect move for Andy Reid. He'll fit in perfectly and they'll get the best out of him. I reckon he'll outscore Charlie Adam between now and May.

The only thing they're lacking now is quality left footed midfielders.
