Yes transfers have been forced upon him, but it happens to most managers in the game.

So the signing of camara and the desperate attempts to sign tonge and mcsheff dont constitute trying to find 'better ones' then? blackwell is 100% the simple reason that these players, expect monty, morgan and killa were all signed or introduced by him. He picks the team, he builds the squad and unfortunately, he chooses the style of play. but let's be fair, even if we are to re profile (yuk) our squad with youger players, it was never going to be (and never should be) 100% young players.

I don't have a problem with what we've done, I have a problem with selling it as a deliberate shift to youth and quality over quantity, when in reality it's a shift towards cost cutting and spending money in areas where we'll get it back. I can cope with the latter, as long as it's not dressed up as the former.

Whilst Blackwell doesn't come over well in the press, anyone with any form of objectivity would have to concede he's been hampered by injuries and sales. My faith in Blackwell has diminished because of our lack of ability to change our style, as I believe we're better to watch and more effective if we actually try and use the ball. It seems Blackwell doesn't agree.

Going back to the Port Vale defeat he has blamed everyone and everything except himself.

McCabe is not blameless for the current situation but should rectify his mistake immediately and relieve Blackwell from such a privelidged position of manager of the Blades and appoint someone who can do the job - clearly it is beyond Blackwell, Ellis and Co

I don't think Blackwells an idiot at all, to me he addressed the problems we had last season quite well in the summer by adding pace on the wings and at the start of the season we looked like we'd be in the top 2 at the end.

Its not really his fault that just about everyone got injured but I do see his short comings by not having a plan B but to be fair what else can you do except hoof it to Henderson when our only fit players are so slow.

I don't think for a minute that our results would have been what they have been since the derby if Ward and Monty hadn't got injured. In those 2 we've lost our main outlet upfront and the rock that stopped the opposition. Even world beaters can get injured you know, look at how crap Liverpool are without Gerrard and Torress then think how bad they'd be if they had as many injuries as us.

I think we have to give Blackwell till xmas at least and am certain that KM wont sack him anyway. Lets see what he can do with a full strength team before making any rash decisions. This is the championship and no ones running away with it. Its far from over yet. We will finish in the top 6 if we get players fit again.

When are team is full strength then Blackwells tactics are effective.

He might have had injuries, but the teams that he has been putting out should be getting much better results than what we've got. His arrogance and self delusion is incredibile. Not once has he put his hands up and said 'it's not good enough, tha fans deserve better', 'the players were poor and I share the balme in that'. It would be a start He insults everyones intelligence by spouting off about being the best team, bad luck, new players, loan players, time to gel etc etc etc. He has been team building ( sorry re-profiling) since last May yet he still finished August with half a squad

Yes! Infact, he should have come out two years ago and said "Sorry lads, we're fucked. Parachute payments are running out and we're broke. The chairman wants the higest earners off the wage bill and we're going to sell all the best/most valuable players and reprofile the team with whatever we can take, including free transfers, loanees and Watford rejects."

Ted - I admire your defence of the man. Indeed you may be right about Ward, Monty and the promising start but ............. he is not good enough, he never has been. We shouldn't have taken him as a coach never mind a manager. But we have and as I have spouted before now is not a good time for him to go - if for no other reason that if his minions were to stay we'll have them running the show and, ever temporary that may be it makes me ill to think about it.
As for his comments and actions - whilst he may not be an idiot he does appear (to me) to be a little moronic. Why? In a matter of a few short weeks he signs Bromby; he later makes a statement admiring his ability and says “I couldn't believe that he wasn't at the Club when he arrived” and then, knowing that we haven't got another central defender, he sells him to Leeds saying “he’s a bit upset because he’s not getting a game so I let him go”. Then, of course, the seemingly unthinkable happens we find that we badly need a central defender, we lose and we start going down hill.
He signs Reid saying "We're glad it's all been finalised. He brings pace and experience at this level where he has impressed on loan. Above all else he has the potential to develop into a real performer with us." He plays him in all the pre-season friendlies but then more or less ignores him thereafter – less than three hours of football has he played. Now either KB thinks young Kyel is not as good as he thought he was or he thinks his potential will develop better sat on his arse in the dug out.
I’m hoping, like everyone else, that something happens quickly – I fear it may have to be divine intervention – to turn the results round; and if that happens and we march back up the division then I suppose I will have to accept that Mr B gets to keep his job.
