While each of the suggested players had their own nadirs, they were at least relatively brief. We endured years of abject performances from Neil Collins and for that reason he will always be the first name that comes to mind in association with this most miserable period in my lifetime as a Blade.

On pure footballing ability it has to be Woolford.

Hammond was shit, legs had gone and he was a wage thieving cunt. Up there with the worst but on pure ability Martyn Woolford was absolutely atrocious in every department.

As poor as Woolford was how can anyone overlook the lack of contribution and general uselessness made by festering arse boil Hammond?

I'm sorry but that's incredibly unfair on 'festering arse boils' in general. Hammond will still be winning this award in 50 years time on this forum. His utter shiteness will go down in Blades folklore.

Have to say though as atrociously dire as Marcus Williams was I still don't think he ever sunk to the vacuous footballing abyss of Jordan Stewart.

We have suffered.

Sammon.

Hammond and Woolford had decent careers before their legs went.

Connor Sammon looked the least like a professional footballer of anyone I've ever seen in a Blades shirt looked even less like a footballer than Jonathan Hunt which I didn't think was possible.

Sammon. Since leaving us he has appeared 24 times for Hearts and Kilmarnock, with a sum total of.......................2....goals.

Unbelievable to think that one manager signed 3 off that list in the same window.

Adkins policy on signings was just pure laziness. He basically found a player he already knew a bit about that couldn't get in a team in a higher division and assumed they'd be good enough for league 1. There's absolutely no way he actually watched, or got his scouts looking any recent performances from any of those players like a decent manager would do. I bet very little research even went into the Sharp signing but thank fuck at least that one payed off.

Simmo.

Lord knows how a player who played really well in his loan spell with us ended up playing with lard on his gloves.

If he had scored the pen then the last 6 years would be just a bad dream.

Kingston you are being really kind to it , as it also made 13 substitute appearences , scoring ......................0......goals every sitter the lumax missed , was the equivalent of a goalkeepers Howler and quite a few of Sammons were harder to miss , than score i.e. putting the ball over the bar from a couple of feet out , on more than one occasion .

All mentioned before at least made an effort. Marcus Williams, Jordan Stewart, even Conor sammon. But for me it has to be Hammond. I will defend the fact his legs had gone, we should have known that he asked for the wages and we paid them to him.
I cant forgive him (this was our fault as well I know) activating the contract extension. He knew he wasn't wanted and not liked but still did it anyway, he could have walked away and at least had respect of fans for that

Hammond wasn't the worst player, but probably the most hyped and the biggest let down. Certainly the most excused by his manager and most definitely biggest wage thief. So over all, Hammond gets it.

McEverley shouldn't be on that list, he wasn't that bad.
Surely Jordan Stewart should be before him, the only United professional footballer I have ever seen do an air kick.
