Us blades fans are like a bitter old divorcee who’s been burnt too many times by previous lovers to truly let themselves go, for fear of being hurt again.
But, the more Wilder flashes me a bit of tit, winks and promises me the world, the more I want to surrender myself to love.
However we should never lose our grounded, self-deprecating ways - it’s what sets us apart.

I wrote on a thread at the end of January (before the Villa game was postponed) that if we could win our home games in Feb and get 6 points then we'd be virtually safe. Now we've already got those 6 points and still with Brighton to play. Every time I've thought about a target points we could get, the team have beaten it!

Something else that I've had in my mind is that every season under Wilder, we've gone on to do even better in the 2nd half of the season than the 1st. The exception was 2017/18, when we had lost Coutts and couldn't adequately replace him until Norwood arrived before the start of the following season.

If that continues, and the last few results back it up, then we could be in for a very exciting second half of the season.

My mate’s birthday is mid March and I confidently predicted at Christmas after Watford that we’d be safe by then. I was only out by about a month.

2 more home games, win those, 45 points from 28 games.

Win 5 of the last 10 and europe here we come. 60 points will be enough.

I think it would be safe to argue that we didn't need that stat to know Chris Wilder is worth 10 Warnock's at least😁
 



Or he means that arsenal will have already been relegated and are floundering mid table with the south Barnsley massive whilst we challenge for a top one spot..
 
at the moment the top touts still see us as upstart crows, that little team having a dream season
once Wilders boys have shown this misconception to be utterly wrong the language will change

Before the season started I was in the North East and asked by a Middlesborough fan where I thought we'd finish the season. I knew he'd blow a gasket if I said 5th or 6th so reigned it in a bit and said "around 10th/11th". He laughed his socks off and said "Are you serious - you're coming straight back down". I just shrugged my shoulders and said "No way mate - wait and see".
I'm just an outrageously optimistic Blade - a bit like Chris Wilder I suppose.
