T'other neet down at our local
the two of us stood at the bar
a said Albert dis home game tomorrow
could well be our toughest so far,
we're gunna be playing Scunthorpe,
a team that could well put a stop
to all of our visions of grandeur
and our dream of finishing top.
I swallowed a gob full of Tetley's
and partaking a modicum of snuff
I turned and I looked hard at Albert
cuss I reckoned I'd brooded enough.
I told him I'd seen em on telly
and read what the papers had said
and if they think that that lot are better than us
then they've gone a bit soft in the head.
We'll be down at the Lane tomorrow,
thee me and our Lee we'll be there
and we'll sing and we'll shout from the time they run out
just to show the lad's how much we care.
On Saturday night when it's over
with a pride that I know will not fade,
in joy or in pain we'll still love em the same
cuss engraved on our harts is -
