The Sunderland one was narrated in more of a neutral manner and was the better programme for it.

The gushing, unquestioned pro-Leeds stance of this makes for a poorer documentary, but a more satisfying watch from the perspective of everyone who hates them.

Completely agree, but I have to admit that after watching part 1 very late last night, I couldn't help a sneak preview of the episode in question. Schadenfreude is quite irresistable where football is concerned.

especially with Russel Crowe’s misery filled voice over that’s more suited to a state funeral.

Think the film 'Death of Stalin', with Bash as Marshall Zhukov.

He bursts in, steals the show and sorts it all out.

Obviously in 1953 nobody did a sliding goal celebration, but I think that is more down to the Cold War and imminent mutually assured nuclear holocaust, rather than a lack of Blade love.

Absolutely brilliant at the time, but that clip played on my tablet, makes it look like DirtyLeeds play in blue.

I bloody enjoyed beating them in white, but chuffin' hell, beating a team in blue is the icing on the icing.

Still, there will be another great year documented in celluloid, to look forward to.

Just watched last 2 episodes. The footage where the dirties were discussing the aftermath of the Villa game boiled my piss. First Ayling telling us that Bumford had a swollen eye the size of a grapefruit. Cue footage of Bumford in gym without a mark on him then laid on treatment table having his ego massaged while saying he made a meal of the incident where he got Villa player sent off. His excuse that the Villa player had intended to swipe him was laughable. Just emphasises what a total full weight nob end he is. Enjoyed rest of it though. Laughed my tits off. And as somebody posted earlier Russell Crowe sounds like he’s reading a eulogy

I though my iPad was fucked when I watched the bit with Basham arriving, but it seems like it’s a colour filter thingy. Definitely blue.
