Afternoon all,

Thought I'd try a second podcast this week with an opposition fan, so I'm very pleased to have Natalie from the No Nay Never podcast joining me to chat about all things Burnley.

This was intended to be a quick episode but we ended up having quite a bit to talk about - it is weird (and good, I think) how many parallels there are between Dyche's Burnley and Wilder's United. We also discussed the 2009 playoff final (trigger warning), Matt Lowton's return to Bramall Lane, becoming an established Premier League team, and which players to watch out for / areas of weakness to target in Saturday's game.

Appreciate any feedback on if people prefer to have two pods, or to have one beast of a pod that combines the two earlier in the week, or if you don't really give a damn either way...

Enjoyed that. You took the words out of my head after all the eulogising about how good it feels to go up via the playoffs - sod that, let's us stick to the autos.

Regarding the format, I have no preference either way on one big vs two shorter podcasts, I often pause the longer ones part way through till the next day anyway.

Just wanted to say thanks to the both of you. Being an expat who rarely gets home these are a great way to feel connected after watching a match. I especially like hearing the opposition view segments and reading Roy's view from each week. Keep up the great work!

yea, great extra content. was an interesting discussion. worked with burnley, might work with some other clubs too. i’m unlikely to enjoy an extra forty minutes listening to (for example) man utd, liverpool, spurs, etc chat.

Slightly uncomfortable yes, but I didn't want to jump in I'm pretty confident plenty of Blades would feel that way if Wednesday were in Bolton's place, mind...

I think you might find a 2 pod per match format hard to keep up once the games start to come more thick and fast over Xmas and New Year.

I would say do whatever works best for you.

As others have said, I tend to listen in 20 minute chunks while driving to and from work. So it doesn’t really make any difference to me.

I like the reviews and previews you do and must say a Thursday oreview podcast is good. Lots of the other preview stuff I listen to comes out in a Friday, so Thursday is a good addition

Definitely prefer the two separate pods format.
Monday feels right to be looking back over the previous weekend's fixture - enough distance to have reflected and formed a more balanced (less emotional) view.
By Thursday, excitement is building for the weekend fixture ahead.

On this pod, I'm really not convinced that the current Burnley team would "walk the Championship" if they were relegated - I think a lot of Prem fans underestimate just how tricky a league it is to get out of.
As we've discovered, the gap between the top of the Champ and lower end of the Prem League is not that big and it certainly felt like more of a culture shock during the 2006/07 season.
