Alan Biggs questions to the owners

Definitely agree with that. It's time for him to zip it.

Not had much time to listen to interviews this week, but if you look from a distance it looks like th wilder show with no respect for fans or players. Wouldn’t surprise me if we got stuffed tomorrow. Let’s see if the players are still listening

And no respect for the owners either

Let’s face it, CW is out for CW alone. If SUFC benefit from that while he’s here then great, but let’s not all kid ourselves he’ll be here if he can see something he feels is better for him on the horizon.
Sad it’s come to this realisation, and so early on in his tenure, but true.

The problem CW has is not primarily about budget, it’s about a plan. Short, medium and long term.
What do we want to achieve, what are the projected time lines, what are the resources available and who does he discuss it with.
These are things that a small business sits down to discuss with its advisors at least once a year. We unfortunately seem to be run like a family shop that is being allowed to stagnate whilst the owners Plan exit.
Not only is a plan required to enable our management team and subsequently players and supporters to buy into it. But surely the owners need a route forward, however whilst ever they fail to grasp the nettle, they leave the club exposed to losing one of its best assets which will not only be expensive but damaging in the long term as people will see the light and realise that the only incentive for the owners is not the long term plan but the short term security of how much !
Talk about fiddling whilst Rome burns. This has been going on for months if not years and it’s needed a club employee to ask for a resolution, not only for his sake but for that of the club which he, you and I seem to value so much higher than our owners.

I'm not really with you on this. Of course it would be better if Wilder had clarity going into the summer, but I don't see how he is unable to do anything because he hasn't got a budget. The way I've always seen it work is that a manager goes to the board with a player he's targeted to discuss whether the funds are there to make an offer.
After all (unlike a small business, by the way) he doesn't know what the player will cost, whether he is allowed to be approached, whether the player is interested or what his wage demands will be. He will also have his list of players to be released, so he knows what wages he's freeing up. All he needs is a general idea and he can make a start. If he targets several names he believes he absolutely needs but then doesn't get the backing, that will be the time to complain.
I don't get your last sentence either; what has been going on for years? A lack of clear direction? Isn't that what McCabe is trying to resolve? Do you really think that Wilder has initiated all this with his question?

Disagree. The summer approach and overhaul of the squad is geared to the agreed budget. Going piecemeal to the board for every deal would be farcical.

Disagree 100%. Maybe we are judging him by our own standards Rodders. Wilder is stirring it for Blades fans and the good of the club not just himself.

Quite the opposite. He is doing this for fans and players in that order.

The thing with Warnock though was that whilst he spouted his mouth off, I don't really remember his mouthing off about the owners or things that should perhaps remain within the walls of the lane

But he’s one of our own. It’s almost (and I love the kid) like he’s using the fan base as a ransom.

Sort the fuck out and let’s kick on

This is where i am slightly torn as i do like the way he speaks freely, but he has to also realise that he is in a very powerful position and local Media and fans listen to him. The fact that Biggs has also stirred the pot should be enough to show him that perhaps he's close to the line now...

Its a unique position, but who's to say that the owners don't turn around and fire him for the way he speaks... Its not near that yet, but its always possible

The way fans are failing to support the manager since Friday's interview sends a message to the prince that replacing Wilder will pass without reaction.

WWF, take a couple of days away from the site mate and relax . Let the dust settle on the current season and then come back . Youre not doing yourself or anyone else for that matter any good at all .

Nonentity Biggs, the well-known irrelevance and author of football legend Lee Bullen’s autobiography and maker of home videos pretending he’s in a penthouse flat.

Who would ever have thought of those questions without our Al, eh?

Oh lord ...... now you've done it ....... there will be hell to pay for mentioning the "fax machine" !!:eek::eek::eek:

I believe the clappers have banned that particular "item" from discussion ...... o_O

UTB &FTP

No, not the clappers, just those of us whose sense of humour extends beyond primary school.

Ok it’s one thing to criticise what a manager says, another entirely to say that they don’t support him.

The manager is looking for support. Only Alan Biggs has stood up so far.

Anyway, Coolhand is right, the moment has passed.

I think that probably says all you need to know.

The manager is complaining lots, rightly or wrongly.

And I think you’re wrong, it’s the club that needs support

Do you know this is how football clubs work or is it just your opinion? If you know it for a fact, can you explain to me how they use a budget to overhaul a squad without knowing how much a player will cost, whether he will sign or what his wage demand will be?

Hamburg. How do I say this.

Like any budget. Even your alcohol spend. Fuel spend. Mortgage spend. All relate to budget availability.

Not which premium beer to but which can I afford?

Mourinho looks at prospects relative to his budget. So does Wilder. So do you.

No point Wilder going to his board to say Lukaku would improve his team and by the way I want 4 other players as well.

Where have you got that from? Have you spoken to him privately or has he said it in an interview?

I have never spoken to him. Never would in all likelihood.

I just know him after observing him over 30 years or more.. I know him better than our fans. That's what this forum has taught me. I thought I knew our fans and yet I do not.

I suspect Wilder is thinking that right now.

SUFC is missing an historical opportunity, believe me.

As I thought, you don't know and it's just your opinion. Worse, you think it's like buying beer from the supermarket. I'm sure Wilder already has an idea of what sort of player will fit into the sort of budget he is likely to be given. If he's looking at bringing in three or four players but one turns out to be double the price he expected, asking for double the wages he expected, then that buggers up any budgetary planning just as much as him making a plan and the board coming in with a lower budget.
Everything I've ever heard or read about it suggests that he will have targets and if he gets to the point that a player will come and the club will let him go, it goes into negotiations and at that point Wilder will go to the board. On that basis it really isn't a great hinderance for Wilder to make a start. After all, it's likely that any player above League 1 won't want to come or won't be allowed to come. He may have to go a fair way down the list. It could take a while before it gets to "can we afford him".

That sounds very much like you are his stalker.

Hburg. We are no nearer.

Hburg. How old are you? I paid you the respect of giving you my time and opinion and you come up with that.

I stalk all United players I respect and wish them well. I follow their careers wherever they are.

wwrdfn, I would be concerned if we were of one mind.

You have been observing him for over 30 years, to the point where you believe you know him better than any other fan and to the point where you believe you can speak for him and state what his intentions and motives are. That sounds scarily like stalking.
As for my age, why ask? That sounds suspiciously like you're "playing the poster, not the post". Surely you wouldn't....
