I am unsure about Flint's abilities, but this must surely spell the end of Collins if it happens (of which I am in favour).

Cue the 'why are we raiding a 4th division side' and 'Swindon conceded 70odd goals and he was a defender' etc. The answer to that is that he barely played last season and was loaned out when Paul Hart came in. Then cure the 'why are we signing a player that was not good enough to get in a relegated teams side'. The guy is 21 and quite highly rated (apparently). It seems like 'Leccs' all over again!?

His return would take yet more heat out of the fans backlash over Wilson’s appointment, which pales into insignificance besides Alex McLeish’s recent cross-Birmingham move from St. Andrew’s to Villa Park.

Errrm... no it doesnt

Cue the is he any good though thread actually:D so the best team to loan him was "Flint returned on loan to Alfreton where he was made captain and led the team to promotion from the Conference North".

Sounds good

At least if its true he is bringing another young lad in who has played at L1 level. I think the younger lads are more hungry and up for the challenge. I would rather see this guy come in and be given a chance than us pay a old has been looking for a final pay cheque.

Quite big at 6"2, hopefully he has a bit of pace because that is what we lack at the back. Probably won't happen though.

According to Swindon's OS he only made two appearances last season. Maybe Wilson remembers him from impressing in training.

Sounds good indeed - especially if we can call him Captain Flint. On matches where he's not playing, he can dress up in that Mr Cuttler parrot outfit and parade around with Captain Blade.

He's only started for Swindon twice, but one of their fans said he was "very good against Rochdale, steady and like a Monster".

so if we play him and morgs we'll have to very scary monsters

I think i've seen this lad play in the central midlands league against Dronfield Town.

He was very highly rated by people around Alfreton and nobody was suprised when he was snapped up by a league side.

His lack of appearences and subsequent loaning back to Alfreton were mainly due to a lack of experience at anything close to a pro level, but he's widely regarded as having the technical ability to play at a higher level.

Exactly the 'sort' we should be looking for, IMO.

Sheff Utd
Shefo Utd
Shefon Uwn
Shifdon Uwn
Shindon Towd
Swindon Town

I'm sure Chelsea will have a similar chant when Villas-Boas raids his former club for Falcao.

He obviously rates these players high enough to contact them.
