Amazing really, given the surgery Wilder had to do on the squad (& the rehabilitation of seeming cast-offs). Of Saturday's first team squad, more than two-thirds were Wilder signings.

He's done a truly superb job. And, looking back, it's only surprising that the teething troubles didn't last longer than they did.

Still pinching mesen when I realise how far we've come since then.

I thought Wilder was out of his depth, all the talk of "no fannying around" was enough hot air to fill a zeppelin and we were looking at another Micky Adams and another stay in the bottom tier.
