Who was the last player we brought in who made the first team better?

Hmmm 🤔

We’ll, I could be wrong but I’m gonna say Didzy. And that’s a loooong time ago.

Our recruitment has been awful for some considerable time, hasn’t it?

Mousset, in terms of short term impact. He was head and shoulders ahead of any striker at the club for a few months, and he gave us a real attacking threat. Shame it never lasted.

I'd also argue that Bogle makes us better, but no bugger seems to want to play him regularly.

I think we have handled the window which is effectively really from the end of the season (mid May to August) terribly. We might bring a few in but I'm not sure that bringing in 5 players and probable starters at once in the final week (2 months after the new manager started and 2-3 weeks after the season started) was a clear planned strategy?

Do you honestly think its a deliberate plan to wait for EPL teams to submit squads before we make our moves? There is the Champ, LG 1/2 and the whole of the continent. We should have brought players in during the summer or a long time before the final week. Now we are scrambling around. It's appears a mess with no clear plan. Even the local journalists like Sutcliffe and Hemmingham have said as much today.

After the last 2 years recruitment I am not sure I have any confidence in us being able to identify players to improve us either sadly.
Wait and see!

got to give the bloke a chance if he comes in christ he cant possibly make us any worse in midfield

Forest forum havng a laugh at the thought of him coming here. 😠

One thing that Jokanovic might not have realised is that a team like Watford and Fulham sadly have more of a pull for young players than we do simply because of location. Yeah I know Sheffield is great and all that, but for someone who doesn't know the city it's never going to have the lure of London is it? Additionally, at those clubs they could get loanees from the likes of Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal without the player even having to move house.

I certainly think that plays a role in us not getting London youngsters ampadu is certainly an exception rather than the rule.

However, we are commutable from Manchester as shown by the deano years unfortunately for us man united and city seem to play silly bleeders when it comes to loaning players out list of yes no yes no yes in terms of whether players are available for loan.

On the plus side it seems we are starting to move like Brentford in terms of picking up talented London youngsters with lankshear and peck from arsenal we can obviously sell the academy to those players.

are forest not below us ? and their laughing at us 🤔

Who's to say he won't be a speed or a McCall

Likely because he was utter gash the last time he played in this league, is now older and has spent the intervening years in a league with about the same degree of quality as the Scottish 1st Division

But overall a quality signing.

Can't understand why Bogle is not played - he's the only truly creative thinking player we have

Feels painfully reminiscent of Adkins 'jobs for my old boys' type of deal.

A truly desperate and depressing signing.
If he's the only one, absolutely agree.

Hopefully he's one of a few with the intention of fulfilling a specific role on and off the pitch.

The operative word being "hopefully"

I get the impression that Slav is feeling alone in the dressing room and needs a Lieutenant. I hope this is a very cheap & very short term solution for this issue and not a signal of our 'ambition'.

Didn't he have and sign Norwood?

Not much of an endorsement of his leadership skills.

I'm advocating patience at present, and I'll continue for a good while yet in terms of the manager.

However, if, and I still think it's a big if, we only bring AG in before the end of the window, then I'll be conveying my concern in no uncertain terms.

and more pull for foreign players.

I’m beginning to wonder if Prince A is just as hopeless as McCabe was.

Why? Would you want him to personally intervene in player transfer?

While things are obviously far from perfect and the club is still very much in need to a Chairman to be appointed to steer the ship, HRH would be a disaster if he became more hands-on - he doesn't have an intimate knowledge of the game and wisely leaves it to others. Whether they e.g. Mitchell, Scheiber etc. are good enough, would be for those closer their actions to take a view - the external view would be very much uninformed.

The
With this chap watching from the stand he must be signing this week.
Yes he's getting on a bit ! We need a leader who understands what SJ is all about .

Norwood played for SJ at Fulham, surely he knows very well what he’s all about!!

I have to say, the similarities between this season after relegation from the prem and the last time we were are getting a little too similar for my liking!!
At this rate we will be appointing Knill as manager around December time…just in time (or lack of it) for the new manager to “assess the squad and what’s needed” again!!

The more I think about it the more annoyed I get, it really should t have been this difficult to sort out given the last manager actually left months ago!! And do t give me the “he only arrived in July…he could very easily have been appointed earlier and thus assessed the players remotely while finishing his previous job.
Fact is, the board hasn’t got a fucking clue…for all their demands of being more involved In Transfers and their fanciful claims they could have signed Soucek….the arrivals from abroad seem a bit thin on the ground…just an old, out of work bloke from SJ’s last club who’s going to be way, way way off the pace!!
It’s becoming very clear what the issue has been with previous transfer windows.
