you start with faith and belief things will get betterAnd you said we were going up and got carried away when we won 4 on the bounce !
I alkways criticise when its neededFoxy, Foxy, someone's hacked BTL.
He's quickly taking us back to those dark days of Weir. After the cup and playoffs last season it didn't need much to move us up a notch - just a bit of this famous Adkins positivity.
Instead results are worse and performances no better than under Clough. Apart from Sharp his signings have been dire, and after 19 games he still doesn't seem to know his best XI.
And he might get a bit of goodwill off fans if he acknowledged the mess he's made so far, rather than patronising us with talk of Hammond's unseen genius.
This slump has come at a bad time for Adkins. The board will no doubt be wondering whether to back him in January if the best we can dream of is the playoffs.
To save themselves the sleepless nights, I reckon they should get rid now.
Yes you do. Adkins will sort it out ,but not overnight. If you want him out, who on earth do you think could motivate the squad that the Clough built? Genuine question. As 1889 says, maybe tongue in cheek, our manager has a good record regarding promotions. I would have hoped that the Prince would have dug a little deeper in his cash bag to resolve a dreadful situation FWIW the Saints supporters in my family think that we were fortunate to get Adkins.
Sorry Robbie, I don't agree he inherited a mess. He joined a team that only needed some tweaking to push on from a play off semi final and league cup semi final. Only Doyle left the club from last season prior to him joining and then Murphy left once he joined. In a rare moment of full agreement on this forum we all knew what positions needed strengthening and yet Adkins ignored it and to be honest from that awful first day at Gillingham has anyone been really impressed with any performance? Doncaster, possibly Chesterfield?I'm sticking by Adkins. He's been poor but he's inherited a mess. We can't keep changing managers. As long as we stay up and start building in summer, he needs another season.
Sorry but madness is keeping a failing manager. To have faith in something it has
to be backed up with reason, Adkins hasn't given anyone a single reason to believe in him since he walked through the door. Your argument is one for us to show blind faith and that, everything considered, would be real madness.
Not often I disagree with you Fulwood, but no mate, no.
"... tell Adkins he has minimum 2 and a half years to turn it round...."
I wonder if he should keep a spine of experienced players ie Bash and Edgar at centre half Hammond in midfield then flood the rest with youngsters and a re-call for our most promising player this season K.Wallace even get that lad Khan back from his loan spell give him a run for our trip to Barnsley also let the so called senior pro's from last night train with the academy coaches and Adkins and co coach the youngsters tell them there going to get a run as 1st teamers ! It may still not work but at least we will get some hunger and fight back.you start with faith and belief things will get better
last night was the beginning of the end for Adkins if he cant halt the slide
Also stick Brayford straight in .I wonder if he should keep a spine of experienced players ie Bash and Edgar at centre half Hammond in midfield then flood the rest with youngsters and a re-call for our most promising player this season K.Wallace even get that lad Khan back from his loan spell give him a run for our trip to Barnsley also let the so called senior pro's from last night train with the academy coaches and Adkins and co coach the youngsters tell them there going to get a run as 1st teamers ! Just put you on ignore piggy. New member and easy subject to wind people up. Nice troll.Don't need to say anymore.
I feel sorry for Adkins.
If he's 'lost the dressing room' then the dressing room can fuck right off!
Who on earth do they think they are?! They're collectively shite!
Adkins has a proven track record of success. This squad has a proven track record of being dog shit. Go figure that one out, ffs.....
Your argument re continuity stacks up, after all where would Man Utd be if Sir Alex had got the bullet in 1986 or whenever it was. Having reflected all day over last nights debacle, I'm kind of split over what the solution should be.thanks for the first line - appreciated.
As for a post of mine to "chipsncake", put forward an alternative solution to getting rid of Adkins.
I don't mind discussing alternative arguments on any topic - but it has to be followed up with constructive debate about a solution.
Saying "Sack Adkins" is easy.
We are seeing the folly of getting rid of Clough - all I see now is when the going gets tough, fans are picking the dead easy option.
solution?

I don't, just listened to his interview on RS, talks bollocks.

The argument for NA is purely based on the continuity scenario, given the Port Vale 1999 style performance last night there can be no other supporting criteria.
The arguments against are numerous and have been well documented on this site therefore in all probability the average man on the Clapham Omnibus would have had him sacked last night.
Perhaps he needs help, an older experienced head to act as a critical friend, someone like, for example, Joe Royle or David Pleat - the sort of person to view goings on from a distance & offer guidance.
As a side issue, I would love to see / hear what Gary Neville makes of us when him & Carragher do their MNF analysis and perhaps hearing something like that may help NA.
One thing is for sure performances & results can not carry on in this manner otherwise we're playing Dagenham & Redbridge next year.
If you bought sky TVs at £50 / month and didn't like the programs would you tell them to cancel after the first month and pay £550 cancellation charge to get Virgin in?
We can't just keep hiring high profile managers and their army of back room staff then spending what money is avaiable on cancelling their contracts!
At least I have MADE an reason - you have made NO reason.
Continuity is the reason - we give Adkins the time to solve the problem. Get rid and build from the bottom.
Clough was rebuilding after the Wier debacle and although not to every ones liking (yes he had issues), he at least had a modicum of a plan and if he had been here this year we may be bored to tears but at least it was a plan that was evolving.
Adkins said he would evaluate the whole squad - which he has and probably still is doing.
Adkins said pre season, the squad was not good enough for promotion - how right he is, but is probably a lot worse than ever he imagined.
Adkins has tried to change a squad bought for boring 4-5-1 into something more suitable. Sadly the players are incapable of doing that or even come anywhere close. The players (and yes even some of Adkins buys) are not suitable for 3rd tier football.
Adkins will (IMHO) be given time to resolve the problem, whether you and other kneejerk reactionary fans want him sacked or not.
These are not his players and whilst Adkins (like Clough) should accept some failures along the way, getting rid of yet another manager is not the solution.
I put it to you, and other Adkins out people to put forward a solution - don't just say........he's failed..........put forward a solution. Put forward how you would solve the problem. It's so easy to say.........."sack the manager".
The solution for me and others is to let Adkins start again and that he has a reasonable amount of time.
Over to you and others on this "Adkins out" thread.............
UTB as always and yes, I am as pissed off as I ever have been - even in the dark days of relegation to the 4th tier
What a "look at me i'm a fucking idiot " btb.The man is a fruit cake ! A funny one though.
